Best Side-By-Side Washer and Dryer
Performed a search and the Splendide seems to be the best washer and dryer combo on the market. But, what about side-by-side washer and dryers? Is Splendide the best in this category, as well, or are there others that may be better in quality and price?
Thanks in advance for your comments and recommendations.

Stackables are in this list, too, only I will be installing them side-by-side because the 3725RL's washer and dryer closets.

I guess this will be weighted by what folks own and use, just natural inclination. BUT, I vote for the Maytag, big drums, flawless...so far. Sue is ticked pink, and happy wife, happy life  She loves her fast 220 dryer as well.
We stacked them in our 3400 RL.

I went with the stackable that are 120 volt. They can be mounted side by side also. This means with power management I can use them on 30 Amp service also.
Ozz went with 220VAC but is restricted to operation on 50 Amp service ONLY. He also had to rewire the outlet for 220 use. EXNAVYDIVER also uses 220.
So fitting in the space (measurement) is the first issue and then deciding if you want to stay with the pre-wired 120 VAC or modify for 220VAC

We just use the Splendide combo. IMO the stackable would have been a better choice but we did not want to give up the closet storage space. We use the on board combo , wired 120V most of the time. It takes small loads it takes a long time to wash and dry but it is just spinning a knob and pushing a couple of buttons but we are in no hurry and why I can even do it myself so it is very simple. we do use the campground laundry at our winter residence from time to time for large loads or bulky items.The laundry room is clean and well maintained and cheap. We were without the W/D for about one year on the road and that was expensive and many on the road laundry rooms are not very well maintained. It is a good buy if you travel a lot. IMO.

The only thing I will add about the Splendide stackables, is that ours are now over five years old and we have never had an inkling of a problem with them. When we are camping, they run pretty much non-stop during the day which by rough math yields about 2000 hours of operation without a hiccup! The new rig will have a brand new set of Splendides installed in it by the dealer. The main reason we elected for dealer installed new ones is to have them covered by an extended service plan in addition to the new unit warranty if we elect to again go that route.
We will not be without them in the future, regardless.

The stackable units are what we use by Splendide.
We have had the combo unit and now prefer the separate units.

No my washer takes about 80 minutes where I use 170 minutes to dry.

You might want to do some measuring first to see what can fit into the available space, unless you plan on doing some cabinet modifications? In particular, with regards to the different alternatives available, pay attention to details such as knob and dial locations with regards to door opening etc. It would be a bummer to buy units that appear to fit in the closet, but the operating knobs contact door jambs or somewhere else?

Thanks for the info. I agree. Need to make sure of the fit and function (winterizing, etc.) The space for the washer and dryer are big. The first set of double doors in the photo takes the dryer and the other set handles the washer. There will still be room in between and on each side of the Splendide units, if we go with them. Good luck on your new Monty.

Claudia and I have the Splendid setup in our 3700RL as side-by-side. I have been amazed by the quality of the washer and dryer. My wife loves to overload and both take it well. They seem to be well ballanced on cylce time, have operated without problem on 30 amp, and the dryer cycles constantly changes cycle direction which keeps the cloths from getting tangled and rinkled. The only negative I have noticed is the you feel the spin cylce throughout our rig because the washer is in a slideout and I don't have stabilizers under it. Also Lazy Days had to reinforce our floor under the washer because it started to separate (I think this was a design issue though). Terry

Note - one more plus to add about splendid (maybe the other washers do the same.) We forgot to turn on the water and it beeps at you and provides a recognizable error to tell you it needs water.

We had the stack-able and had to replace our washer. Our dealer suggested the Whirlpool. It is much lighter weight and parts are available everywhere. The same dryer is on top. I am very happy with it. I can use this on 30 amp but not washer, dryer and a/c at the same time. The washer and dryer each take about the same time.. 40-50 min.

Our were factory installed and they put in Whirlpool stackable. Wife loves them. We had the Splendid combo in the last Montana and these are a lot faster.

My DW wants to know:
Those of you with a 220v dryer, how long does it take the dryer to finish a normal cycle as compared to the washer and what units do you have?
John has already stated that his 110v dryer takes approximately 170 min. and his washer 80 minutes.
If we go with 220v, looks like the Splendide does not have a 220v model. Whirlpool sounds like a good unit, hopefully they come in 220v if that is what the DW wants. Happy DW...happy life! We are not worried about the 30amp vs. 50amp service as we almost always stay at a 50amp campground.

Just another thing to think about but the reason I liked to 110 Whirlpool over the 220 is the amount of heat it generates.. I feel comfortable going outside or even leaving with the 110 running but would not with 220.. That just may be me but it makes me fee; better.

We have the side by side Splendid washer and dryer set in our 3700RL for almost two years. They work on 30 amps and I just love them. Lazydays recommended the side by side because it takes no time to do your laundry verses the combo. No problems and it is great having that luxury while on the road.

Sue loves her Whirlpools, I call it her watching machine..
and on our 220, there is no noticeable heat around the dryer.
