Tons to learn

Hello! My wife an I just bought our first RV. A 2021 Montana 3120RL. We brought it straight from the dealer to a local campground just 2 miles from our house so we can get acquainted with everything. We love it so far, and can't wait to go on our first real adventure. I've already learned a lot from this site and look forward to more.

Welcome! Yes, there is quite a learning curve. The best way to figure it out is by doing what did, dive right in.

Welcome to the forum. The other thing to help your learning curve is to attend a rally. The fall rally still has openings and Quartzsite is near you in January. Enjoy your new Montana.

Congrats on your new Montana. Yes, there's lots to learn and figure out, but you do it one step at a time. Every day you learn something new and different. And it never stops. About the time you "think" you've got everything figured out, there's something else to deal with. It might be a really awkward campsite to back into, or it might be a flat tire, it might be an unexpected campground power outage, or maybe your kids just destroyed your favorite fishing reel. Every day is a learning experience, and you continue to grow and grow and grow. Along the way, you really learn to love this life style too. As more and more challenges get under your belt, you learn real fast, you really do enjoy the next one that comes along.

Be patient "grasshopper"... you are in for an adventure of a lifetime!

Welcome to the forums!

Great places to stay is in Chula Vista. About a 2 hour drive. You have two to choose from, one is the Chula Vista RV Resort, and their new facility one offramp north (Exit E off the 5 FWY), is Sun Outdoors. Both are owned by Sunrvresorts.com. Another one is Paradise by the Sea in Oceanside. There is Newport Dunes (Expensive, and some tight spots). Going north there are two in Paso Robles, both owned by Sunrvresorts. I'd stay away from Lake Elsinore, went once and never again. PM me if you want details on that location.

Thank you! I've already learned a lot from watching YouTube videos. Including how to backup my new rig. It's not as easy as it looks! I know I'll get it with practice and experience.

We were looking at Chula Vista just last night. My wife loves the beach so camping on the water is definitely on her bucket list.
