Sleep Number Install
We are preparing to order a radius King to replace current poor Queen mattress on our 2008 3400RL. I've read the old posts so here's what I think I understand about the project:
1) I need to replace 1/2" thick queen sized plywood base with larger plywood - probably 70 X 78" & maybe 3/4 thick. Radius bottom corners enough to clear sink cabinets when slide is in.
2) Mount air pump under the new base at the bed head end. Secure pump with Velcro or other suitable strap. Notch new wood mattress base to allow running air hoses up & connect to head of Sleep Number Mattress. Question - Will the mattress head fit snug against wall with hoses connected?
3)Cut a hole in the side of the bed base that allows running an electrical cord from pump to existing bedroom 110V outlet. (Understand I may want to install wiring/junction box/outlet to bed base later knowing it has to accommodate slide going out)
Anything I left out or complexities I'm not anticipating? Thanks!
