Extended Warranty

I've got a 2010 Montana 3000RK in good shape. Can I still get extended warranty for this old of trailer. Would like to get for 1yr at a time. Good Sam said it has to be 15 yrs or newer. Haven't contacted them yet. May only keep the trailer for another 3 yrs.

Just remember, anything you get will not be a warranty. You will only be able to buy a service contract and likely, that will not cover everything and with all the fine print, chances are that much of what you need repaired would be denied. You really would be better off just putting money aside each year to save for any breakdowns you may experience. You usually are much better off being your own warranty/service provider.

You should be able to get Good Sam to cover a 2010 for at least a year or two. The bigger question is do oyu want to use Good Sam. There have been lots of complaints about their extended warranties.

I've had service contracts since the trailer was new and used them very few times. Just in case the refriferator or air condition unit goes bad for example, they can be expensive. We only use the 5th wheel about 30 days a year in the summer months any more since we don't travel much anymore. I guess in the long run I should just skip buying anything and use my savings for any big expense.

We put money into a saving account 12 years ago to cover unexpected repairs. Guess what, that money is still there. If we had purchased an extended warranty for a few thousand, we would have been out that cost.

The warranty on my 5th wheel is about to term out. I have a 2008, and my warranty service is through Good Sam. Our decision is to do as mhs4771 and we are going to take the funds we spent each year and put that into a high interest yielding account.

I used my Good Sam warranty on several matters, and they paid the amounts owed. However, I learned that you need to find the right shop that will encourage ad work with Good Sam to pay them directly.

Good luck

Save your money! If your handy you can do your own repairs for a lot less $$ and you know its done right. Camping world wrote a $9k extended warranty onto our sale when we bought our RV without even asking. Needless to say, I told them where they could put it, and it wasn't on my sales contract
