Brake Wires

When we first bought our Montana new in 2017 we had brake issues on our maiden voyage. The problem ended up being the wires to the magnet was all wrapped up and shorting out. Had it repaired under warranty, so today I was finishing up repacking wheel bearing and I was on the last left rear drum. When I pulled off the drum I seen this, wires were all twisted with bare wires.

I fixed them and finished packing the bearings but still was not satisfied with the self adjuster not working correctly even after some lube applied. I ordered a new assembly and should be delivered by Friday.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and change it over to electric over hydraulic disc brakes.

I had one out of the four magnets wires broken upon inspection. I think they somehow get caught or pulled and break. I couldn't tell that only three wheels were braking.

Good find. That's what periodic maintenance is good for especially if you can do it yourself. I never cared for the self adjusting brakes on the Monty. I usually adjust manually while doing other maintenance.

Yeah, while I had each wheel off the ground I should have adjusted manually. I will when I get the new assembly and install it and just the other brakes
