Refrigerator and water heater won’t run on gas.

Asking for a camping buddy. New to him 5er and the refrigerator and water heater will not stay lit when on propane. I suggested he replace the regulator but his stove burns without problem so he thinks that means the regulator is OK. Attempted to search the history files but I’m still learning how to use the forum. Thanks for any suggestions.

Has he tried his furnace? If that won't stay lit as well then you're probably right about the regulator. It doesn't take much LP pressure to get a stove to light.

I'm going to jump in on this because I have a question similar.
I found I can run the stove, and furnace at the same time, but I can't run the new gas water heater (on demand) at the same time as the other equipment.
Do I need a new regulator or is it just using such a large volume of gas, at that moment, that at starves the others?

Of course the coldest time of the year and I am away, leaving the wife alone in the rv and the furnace goes out. A repair guy came out as it was 5 degrees and found the furnace full of oil. I am hooked to a 300 gallon tank. After doing some research, this is fairly common especially when connected to a large tank. I have now added a drop leg that I can drain just past the regulator. The oil separates from the gas at the regulator on the low pressure side.
To fix the appliances, he simply disconnected the lines and removed the auxiliary port on the lowest part of the system and blew the oil out of the lines. There was a surprising amount.

I taught vocational machine shop, welding, building construction, woodworking, electricity, electronics, computer repair, auto cadd, and many other general tech ed classes. I pretty much taught them all. Lol. The old saying "those that can't do teach " is false, if you really want to understand a subject, teach it! Thank you. As far as business, I started an Indoor advertising company in Nashville which I sold a year ago. Btw I did clean up the sloppy yellow tape shown in the picture!

I went to vocational machine shop. Then worked in a job shop for 12 years. It went out of business and I started my own shop 43 years ago. We make products for the firearm industry. Fun Fun Fun.
