2016 3710FL Leveling Jacks

I am afraid I have an issue with my leveling jacks, just not sure what it is or what to do. The center jack under the kitchen slide keeps making popping noises and shakes the house. Releveled, and over the course of 4 days it is out of level again. The opposite side (front door side) has dropped about two inches. I live alone and don't have a truck to use to raise the jacks and start over. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and what I need to do to fix the problem? It really has me worried.

Beth,

Unless you see fluid leaks from the jacks or lines this may be air in the system.

Recommend cycling your jacks several times. Let the pump cool between multiple cycles.

If you have never changed your hydraulic fluid, it is past due. When you put in new fluid make sure you also include anti stiction fluid. Search the forum for info on anti stiction as there are multiple posts. The anti stiction fluid is used to silence the popping.

Have you been stationary for many months? Highly probable that air bubbles have entered your hydraulic system. Your rig has hydraulic levelers and the living room (2) slides are hydraulic. There is a tank of hydraulic fluid up in the front storage compartment on the drivers side.

I believe your other slides are cable slides.

Use the google search above to look up “stiction”. The popping sound is called “stiction”…I am lucky to spell it correctly, no idea what physically causes it. Some members here can explain it - and we will all learn what the heck it is. My rig pops from time to time. The cure is to add a quart of anti-stiction fluid to your hydraulic fluid tank. There are options for anti-stiction fluid…I used motorcycle fork oil because the motorcycle shop was located closer to me than the Caterpillar dealership.

I had to use a turkey baster to suck out a quart of hydraulic fluid (which in my rig is red transmission fluid). Then I cycled the system - slides in and out 5 or 6 times…and the levelers 5 or 6 times. If you don’t have a truck to hook up to, simply retract all the rear jacks and run the front jacks up and down several times…there is no magic number for “several”…I picked 5-6 cycles. This process will purge the air from the system and mix in the anti-stiction fluid. I did this several years ago and I evidently need to do it again.

When you are ready to re-level your rig…run all the slides in before leveling. Start with the nose high and hit “auto level” and let it do its magic.

I put wood blocks under all 4 of my rear levelers to shorten the stroke of the legs. Shorter legs yield more stable setup.

Again - google STICTION and read more past threads on the subject. Find a photo that shows the hydraulic fluid tank and the “fluid full” mark.

Edit: you and me both need to change our fluid as mentioned by AZ Traveler.

see the bulletin about anti stiction fluid, it's a common problem, and a very easy fix. I had to add it to our rig in the first year because it was doing the exact same thing. Add it, cycle the jacks several times up and down to get it circulated in the system and you will be good again.

This will likely fix it…..

Order this. https://a.co/d/eIgzHrp

Drain (using a bulb sucker) an equal amount out of your hydraulic reservoir then add the fork oil. Now, cycle all landing gear and slides several times. Problem most likely fixed.

We had the very same issue on our 2021 3763 BP. We contacted Lippert directly and they told us exactly what to get and walked us through what to do. They are super easy to work with.

The Maxima Fork Oil is what I used, as well. That stiction popping will scare you when it first happens if you're not ready for it.
