Motion lights
Not a big deal just curious, why do my hallway motion lights come on when the heat comes on, propane forced hot air. it's a 2021 RL3781.
Thanks Dean

Motion lights are activated by "motion." Evidently when your furnace kicks on it creates just the right type of vibration throughout the camper it causes the light to think there is "motion" happening and it turns the light on.
Or maybe, when the furnace starts blowing, the moving air is blowing a curtain or something hanging on the wall. It detects motion and turns on.

Mine flashed on and off all of the time when new. We never picked up on it in our pdi, we just figured it was because we were moving around. First night in the rig we realized it.
I had 2 warranty issues in our first year, that light and a drawer soft closure mechanism, keystone sent me the parts and I fixed them. The new light lasted about a month then flashing again. I bought a two pack of slightly different lights from Amazon. Been good ever since.

I didn't have answer when my wife asked me what it was, so I said it was mice and the furnace scared them. Needless. to say she did not find that funny. I don't care what anyone says the pullout sofa bed feels just like camping after a while.

Irritating for sure. I just put a pillow in front of it. Doesn't happen all the time.

Infrared heat although invisible to the naked eye, may be what your sensor. Is seeing. You could also look for something in the room that is affected by the air current created by the furnace causing a detectable movement. I’m leaning towards the infrared heat as the culprit.

I've heard some of the Keystone plants were built over burial grounds from the Civil War. and this has started to cause issues with ghosts. Sometimes the ghosts would transfer to the RVs being manufactured which caused mysterious issues until they were finally exorcised.

As firestation12 said, triggered by infrared heat. I was in my shop recently after dark. I had a solo cup of warm water I had been using to clean some stuff. After finishing, I threw the still warm water out toward the side of the building. And my motion lights came on even though my body was still around the corner from the lights. So a gust of warm air passing thru cooler air could do the same.
