Hard to believe

I saw yesterday on a FB post and picture, of a Montana trailer on the highway with a dog kennel mounted on the back of it. The person who posted it said they were following the trailer and the kennel was occupied. Anybody else see this? They said the poor dog was freaking out. They called the highway patrol, who said that is not a highway patrol issue. Unbelievable a pet owner would subject their dog to this. For the life of me, I cannot find the post and picture. The kennel was on a receiver mounted storage tray.

I saw that also. They should not be allowed to own a dog.
Here is the pic. And their message.

We were behind this vehicle on future 26 west. We pulled alongside & there is indeed a dog in that crate. The dog is going nuts & panting heavily. Called the NC highway patrol & they said it was not a highway patrol issue & offered to connect me with Buncombe County.... so much for getting that poor dog help. Side note.... there was plenty of room in the back of their truck!

We see all kinds of dumb things as we all travel around but I've not seen anything like that. Unfortunately it's not only dumb, it's cruel. One can only hope that individual has his karma moment.

Maybe the owner should ride back there and let the Dog Drive.

At least it was not a leash tied to the bumper like "Vacation".

I don't know about the dog in the cage, but one thing is certain, that cargo carrier and it's contents are blocking visibility of the license plate. THAT in itself should get the driver a ticket!

Don't know how others do it, but this is how we travel with our doggies (we have 2 puppy dachshunds) .

But then, they aren't spoiled in the least little bit:

I can't imagine the terror that poor dog on the bumper was experiencing!

Dogs ride in their kennels in the backs of pickups all over America all the time. What's the difference to the dog?

Difference between in a kennel in the back of the pick up and on the hitch of a camper is that there is more bounce on the back of the camper than in the back of the pick up. I don't even agree with them in the back of a pick up.

Not to mention you would likely never know if that crate detached and rolled down the highway. If the dog is that big a burden, perhaps it is time to ask yourself why you have a dog. Maybe the dog needs a better home.

No Plates

The cops could pull him over for no visible license plates.

At least in the bed of the truck the dog isn't choking on diesel fumes.

This isn’t the way our PBGV is treated. I’d anyone had to ride back there it would be me.

The way the back end of these trailers bounce, he/she is probably bounced in the air almost continuously even on relatively smooth highways. Hate to think about a rough highway.

Animal cruelty is a felony.
Don't know why the state police did not respond.

We have 2 fur babies and could never imagine doing such a thing. I hope the owner reads this post and rethinks their future travels with their pet. It’s definitely animal cruelty in my book. Kinda indicates their true feelings about their pet. Some people just don’t have a clue!
