Surround Sound

Our Mountaineer has the Sharp XLMP60 compact stereo system. Is there a replacement surround sound system that will fit in the same spot? Is the stereo secured by screws from the bottom, it seems to be covered by molding. Also does the RCA TV allow you to turn off the sound and just run through the surrond sound?

We put a Samsung DVD AM FM Sound system in our 5er. Not sure what your system looks like. We changed speakers, sub, everything. Just used the speaker wires that were in the trailer. Used velcro on the feet of the new unit to hold it in place. When we are hooked up to cable, I run the cable thru a VCR (as a TV tunner) sound to the Samsung, vidio to the TV.
When Using the Satilite system I send sound directly to the sound system and vidio thru vcr to TV
