Little Rip In My Roof-Now What
Hi Everyone,
Long time no talk huh???
I had an opportunity this weekend to clean my unit, started with the roof which was a breeze, but I noticed a little rip (dime size) and was wondering if anyone knows how I should patch it?
Thanks in advance.
I did apply a little goop just to keep the rain out until one of you marvelous smart folks can offer a solution.

Hi Sue
I would repair the damaged part of your roof with "Eternabond"tape.Clean the area, cut a small peice of the tape, put it down over the rip,and use a small wooden or steel roller to give it a good seal. Its a one time fix and you`ll never have to worry about the rip again.

Hi Sue,
Harleys solution appears great and I might try it someday but for real small holes a dab of Dicor Sealant should do it. I use it quite a bit for pin holes that I get from branches.

HI SUE Glad to see you back. I see your signature indicates Ocala, FL. Are you in Ocala now?? If not you should be as we are at Elite Resorts over at Salt Springs until the 21st.
Both harley and lightningjack have made good suggestions and someday I will be buying both products for just such an emergency.

Sue, Last year we had a tree come through our roof and did some small damage. We pluged the holes with wooden dowl rods and then used the eternabond repair. We then covered everything with Dicor sealant. I was just up there last week and everything is still holding. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies, but where does one buy this tape at? Home Depot, etc?

My dealer suggested Dicor Sealant, also. I also carry a Camping World roof repair kit for tree banches that bite!

Sue, I think you will have to get it at Campers World or other RV supply stores. Go to eternabond.com for more information. It is a bit pricey but it is a good product.
Good luck!

Thanks, I ordered just the patch for now. I couldn't justify buying a whole roll at $80.00. I would never use it all before it became to old to even work.
Glen, no, I'm not in Ocala, just haven't changed it from last winter when we were down there horse showing. Thanks

It's really good to see you back here, Sue! That patch should do you fine. I'm sold on Eternabond and have a roll on order. I was not aware of the Dicor Sealant Tom mentioned but will plan to get some for those small holes.
