We stayed at the one right at the entrance to Mesa Verda. I'm at work so I can't look it up. There may be some closer to Cortez. I stayed down there but in a room. Very nice town and people.

We, too, stayed at the "Mesa Verde RV Resort" near the entrance to the National Park. There are two campgrounds near each other with very similar names. We had WIFI and very nice campsite. That is where we would stay again.

There are several within the city limits of Cortez, CO, also. One I would NOT recommend in Cortez is La Mesa RV Park. We overnighted there. The sites are way too small for us. There were only a couple of us in the "park" (a stretch, by the way) so we stuck way out in the access road. The other was a Class A and he didn't even try to back in. He just parked along the edge of the road.

It's also the only rv park I've ever been in where instead of breakers they had the screw in cartridge fuses with a couple of extras sitting on top of the box. It was purportedly 30 amp, or at least the connector and fuse were. A very old park in need of serious updating.

JP,
David,
Steve,

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. We've decided to hang out around Santa Fe for a week or so, then we'll probably move on up to Cortez. Sure love setting my own schedule and itinerary.
Thanks again.
