Hot Water Question
My wife just said that the water never really got hot when she had the propane switch on for the tank. In looking at the indicator there was also a small red light next the the lighted switch indicating that the propane should be on for the hot water tank. What does that light on the indicator mean?

The small red light is on when the electronic ignition is lighting the flame. It goes out when lit. It will keep trying to light 3 times then shut off for 3 minutes if it fails to light. I usually run a stove burner first to purge air from the line if we haven`t run the hot water on propane recently.

That's it!!!
I ran the stove top burner for three minutes, then tried the hot water. It didn't fire the first time, recycled and fired right up.
I called keystone earlier and was told that light meant that the propane was on. That light has never gone on in the six years I have owned this rig.

That little red light means that the gas is trying to light but it is NOT lit yet. When the burner fires, the light goes OFF. If it doesn't go off then there is a problem and the stove solution above is the first attempt to resolve the issue. If not then there is another problem, like mentioned in some recent threads on water heater problems...

We must have a different system. We just push the red-rocker panel switch labeled HTR...when pushed it stays on.

Right, Robbie, but right next to your switch - between the gas switch and the water pump rocker switch is a TINY little hole that lights up red when you first hit the gas switch. The rocker switch does not kick back off...

My '05 2955 does not have that tiny light. Just red light on rocker switch. Use electric most of the time at campgounds.

Don't apologize Dave, you have the same system as Robbie (and farmboy). That little light is easy to overlook and only illuminates for a split second when the propane heater is energized.
Robbie: that little light is similar to your the "Pedal Adjustment" button in your TV. It may be years before you find it.

I have no idea if we have different systems, but they sure sound different....you're talking Greek!

Well, the tech was here Friday, checked the board and it was okay. Checked the igniter and said it was gapped to close. Adjusted the gap and it worked for three days. Now I am right back where we started again. Do you think I should buy a new igniter and just replace it?
