What's under that kilt?

Our 40 year old son finally met the girl of his dreams. I think his mom knew it before he did. They tied the knot Friday at Indian Springs Metro Park north of Detroit. It was a non-traditional ceremony with elements of Scottish tradition, thus the groom, his dad (Charlie) and his uncle wore kilts, which raises the age old question. What is under them? What happens at Indian Springs Metro Park stays at Indian Springs Metro Park! Congrats to both the lucky bride and groom and also the parents that have now inherited another child!

We were in Scotland last September. We were touring an old catheral when they had to cut the tour short as a wedding was to be held there later that morning. Throughout the small town, we saw several young men dressed in kilts. We believe it was members of the wedding party. How nice they all looked. I just love that people hold to these old traditions.

Even since Braveheart, I have never particularly had an interest in knowing what's under a kilt, even then, but I've always wanted to know what's in the pouch and what's the real word for it?

Very bright tartan. Very cool indeed. Most other Scotsmen I know use darker colors for their clan.

P.S. I do realize Mr. Gibson is NOT Scottish.

Charlie, you look great in a kilt. Nila, I didn't recognize you. It must be the longer hair style. You look marvelous. Gosh we haven't seen you guys for a couple of years. Bob has always wanted a kilt in our clan colors. But maybe in the next life. Hope our paths will cross again soon.

Art: the purse in the front is called a Sporron. Each clan has their own tartan. We also have an ancient and a modern tartan with a variation in color.

Charlie & Nila,
Wow, congrats! What a beautiful wedding! Not to mention the experience and fun you all had. I agree with Grant that is a great picture, if he hadn't suggested it, I would have. Looks like Charlie Sr. has been out in the Sun way more than Charlie Jr. LOL. Best wishes to the Bride & Groom!

Congratulations Charlie and Nila, you two look great. If only Charlie had some beads hanging from the kilt!!!! :-)

I am checking into a large order of the MOC kilts, I think it will a very popular item at the rallies.
