Telescoping Extension Ladder
Has anyone had experience with the telescoping ladder sold through Camping World? They have it marked down by $77 but hate to purchase something I haven't seen. Our local Loew's and Home Depot carry nothing like it. I like the way it telescopes down for storage and transport but wonder how sturdy and stable it is. Thanks, Jim

I weigh about 260#, so I can't use it. I sure like the concept. I have a Gorilla 13' folding ladder (13' when extended). It folds to about 3-1/2' and is rated for 300#.

I have one although I didn't buy it from CW. I bought mine at an Escapade in 2004. Love it. Have had no problems with it. Doesn't take up much room and is fairly light. I don't know what CW is asking for it but I paid $250.00 for ours. Anything less than that I would consider a bargain.

Jim,
I have one, after replacing my CW 6' fold-up ladder. This is one of the best purchases made. I found that the cost on Amazon was less than that of CW by about $50.
Here is the model I got, it is the perfect size to lie on its side and takes up very little room in the basement. I see that Amazon wants $242, now, I paid $180 for mine with free shipping.
Telesteps 1400 10.5 feet.

I purchased on at CW. I don't remember the price. I have to take my multi-utility kife off my belt when I climb it or I'm overweight!!!!!!!
You are correct. It stores very compactly, is easy to extend and collapse. I think the one I have is 12 ft.

I have one too, but not from CW. Mine came from Ace Hardware. I carry it all the time, very compact and extends to the roof line of the Montana. For that price, I would check the specs for carrying capacity and length, mine cost more than that, but I have had it for a few years now, and the price may have dropped.

Thanks to all for your replies. This forum provides some great info. You have made up my mind to go with it. CW has it on sale until 5/25 for $199.99. I have not found it anywhere on the net for less than $250. Since we need a few other items shipping will be free.

Here's another suggestion...if you have a locking tail gate on your truck, purchase a 6' or longer ladder and slide it under the 5th wheel hitch. When the tail gate is up and locked, the ladder is secure and cannot be removed.
