I'm trying to figure out how to run the cables so I can hook up my dual LNB. I have the satellite prep package but will need another connector outside. Has anyone done this utilizing the sat prep package and existing wiring? Thanks

Don't think it can be done. In order to run your dual LNB and cable you would need another outside connector for the cable TV. This is only draw back to way they have it hooked up, others i have seen do it with both connectors outside the rig.

My DishNet 500 with a dual LNB has a "multidish switch (SW-21) (similar to a signal splitter) which is outside at the dish. Each LND hooks to it then one cable to the outside connector. If you are trying to hook up 2 "independent" receivers inside, then you will need two connectors. You could split the signal inside after the receiver which would allow you to watch the same thing on both TVs (or watch the bedroom tv while the LR one is off).

I'm confused. I looked at the schematic for the Sat Prep and cab tv wiring. I have a new mountaineer that comes standard with Sat Prep. Should there be 2 coax connecters on the outside of the coach, or just one? Where is the jumper connection? Behind the living room TV? Thanks!

Dirk, all depends on the year of your unit. The older units do not have sat.capability from one outside hookup. What year is your unit?

2006. I will have it delivered in 2 weeks. When I saw it at the show the salesman and I figured it wasn't setup for Sat. because there's only one coax connection on the outside. Did'nt pull out the TV set and look behind it though....

Good Morning
Dirk, you should have just one connection on the outside, it splits in the wall. One connection inside is for sat connection only, it has two connections. If you want satelitte, connect one, if no sat. this is where you use the coaix loop to complete the connection to use the outside attenna.
The other single connection is for using the roof antenna.
The problem I have is splitting the antenna signal for the radio and mirroring my sat. feed and using the antenna for the living room TV.
DID I CONFUSE YOU MORE with that explanation? I hope not.

No I'm not more confused thankyou. Since I didn't see the double coax connection in the coach, I guess it must be behind the 25" TV? I just wanna make sure I'm not getting shortchanged before I take delivery. The connection with the 12v power plug and antenna switch is in the bedroom. Thanks.

I have a 2004 3255RL and I put in the second connection for my Dish 500 dual Lnb for my second receiver in the bedroom. I bought the outside cable connection and installed it below the exsisting satellite hookup (next to the water hookup. It was real easy to fish a short piece of coax into the water pump compartment which is below the TV and computer desk. My unit already had a coax running to the bedroom and it was on the antenna/booster plate. I used a barrel connector to join the outside feed to the bedroom line. The outside hookup is available at any RV supply store.Less than $15.00 for all.

Dirk,
The antenna switch and hookup is also in the bedroom on my unit. The wall plate has two connections on it. One for the feed from your antenna and the other for the feed from your satellite.Hopefully yours will be the same. Hope this helped.

My new mountaineer was supposed to come with Sat Prep as part of the "moving to Montana" package. I'm not convinced it was installed at the factory. The other mountaineer models at the RV show had the double connection wall plate with the short jumper installed by the antenna/cable switch booster thing in the bedroom. Mine doesn't have this. I went over to the dealership (where they are doing the PDI) and pointed this out to the service manager. He's gonna call Keystone and see if it was nstalled on my unit.
Is it possable that the double-jumper connection plate is on the wall behind the TV in the living room? The TV is bolted down, so I couldn't pull it out and check.
Does everybody else have sat prep in the bedroom?
It's a 2006 mountaineer 342PHT.
Thanks

Although I have a Montana rather than the Mountaineer, I believe the thought process is the same. With the sat prep, there is a "wall plate" with 2 coax connectors. These 2 connectors are jumpered together with a short piece of coax. If satellite is to be used, the coax is removed, and the sat. receiver is connected in line (in place of) the coax jumper. As such, you will most likely find this "wall plate" where Keystone intends for you to place the sat. receiver. The Montana wall plate is adjacent to the entertainment center - the radio/CD/DCD controller. In our Monty, Keystone intends that the sat receiver will sit on top of this entertainment center.

Wired my 2006 342pht this weekend. The sat prep jumper is behind the tv in the E-center.
I used a 3x4 multiswitch in the bedroom tv cabinet and ran 2 new cables for the LNBs.Down the closet wall back under the dresser and then down into the LP cabinet, where I will be mounting a double cable outlet. The bedroom receiver is hooked to output one. The E-center and Bunkhouse each have a cable, so output 2 and 3 are used. I ran the booster output to the ant in on the switch and used splitters at each sat box to allow off air channels or park cable without re-wiring.
This is a link to the switch maker-http://www.levitonvoicedata.com/support/
documents/instructionsheets/476913MS.pdf#search='3x4%20multi%20switch'
Homedepot sells them for $50. Total time including trip to the Depot about 2.5 hrs.
I know can watch sat or ant at any television in the camper.
