Extended warranty

We just upgraded our 2008 Montana 3400RL to a new 3230CK. In the paperwork for Norcold is an offer for extended warranty on the 18 cu RV fridge. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Are there problems with this style of refrigerators and do you think the extended warranty is needed?

You need to make up your own mind. To some they are the best thing since sliced bread and to others you would be better off with out one. Just remember they are offered to make whoever offers them money.

Hope you enjoy your new 3230CK as much as we have enjoyed ours. We bought the extended warranty on the whole coach as opposed to a single component. As Lynwood said, it’s a personal decision. What is your level of risk acceptance. Basically they’re betting nothing major will go wrong. Our warranty covers all the solar, electrical components, appliances suspension, etc. on our last unit the inverter/charger went out along with a few other items. This way I know my max exposure. YMMV.

We purchased a "whole house" extended warranty when we purchased our 2013 unit and have renewed it for another 5 years. We've used it numerous times and would not go without it. It is a Protective Asset Protection/XtraRide Service Contract and have had no problems on claims for repairs and replacements. Great plan!
