First Rally!!!

Just signed up for the Rally today. It will be our first time going. Is there anything extra/special that as a first timer that we should think to bring with us? (We have long H2O hose). I know there is a Pet Parade so thinking Rally is pet friendly. Will it be harder with pets? Is there any type of dog area there to let them run and get exercise? Ladies any special clothes or footwear needed? Haha, girls like to be prepared. TIA

Welcome Aboard to the Fall Rally, Cindy! You are set up already for the water hose but also make sure you have a splitter for the water because you may have to share a water hydrant with a neighbor. You also need extra sewer hose since all the connections (Water, Sewer and Electric) are all at the rear of each site. In the way of clothing one never knows what Mother Nature will throw on us so plan for warm/hot weather as well as cool/cold just be be safe. Most of the sessions and meals are inside the buildings at the fairground except for the Ladies Driving School Practical session, the Flag Retirement Ceremony, the Pet Parade and the Bonfire. There may be extra outside sessions also but most are inside. There is no fenced pet area for them to run but there are some open spaces on the fairground to take your pets to run. Keep watching the Forum and the Fall Rally section because there are new posting coming up daily to sign up for and etc. Again Welcome to the Fall Rally and looking forward to meeting you and your husband in September!

Hello Cindy,

So glad to hear you’ll be joining us! The sewer and fresh water connections are in the back, so make sure you’ll have long enough hoses. Yes, there’s all kinds of dogs being walked. There is no dog park and dogs must be on leash.

As for clothing….comfy, comfy!

Make sure you read all the posts in the 2021 Fall Rally section. There are a few sign ups for tours, Ladies Driving School, Ladies Luncheon, crafts, etc.

See you soon at the rally.
Marilyn

Glad you signed up for Rally. Your pet question depends upon your dog and level of training. My Labrador is eleven and practices retrieving drills every day, rain or shine, off leash. Plenty of area for dogs to work, but not run free and wild. Obviously you need to clean up after your dog and no leaving dogs outside unattended. We have, in the previous 16 rallies, not had any issues. Enjoy.

Cindy, all good questions. Footwear? The fairgrounds are spacious and weather depending walking is my favoriite mode of transportation to and from activities. So good sturdy shoes. The Amish dinner is at an Amish home, so I wear a bit dressier clothes for that( nicer slacks and blouce, or capris if warm as they use fans and no airconditioning) Also the tours of factories like closed toe shoes. By all means dress comfortably for sitting in seminars and LOOSE clothing will be necessary after all the delicious meals! oh,and be sure to sign up for Ladies Luncheon and bring an item to share as suggested! Looking forward to meeting you, glad you are coming and enjoy!
