Another Soon to be Montana Owner

Hello,

I have recently ordered a new 3791RD and am anxiously waiting for it to be built. I intend to be full timing in it starting next summer. Glad to have this forum to learn about everything to be prepared for with a new trailer. Still to much more to read though.

Greg

Congrats on your upcoming new purchase and Welcome to the forums.

I'd like to give you a word of advise, considering you are planning on purchasing and shortly thereafter going full time. And that is, you really should do several shake-out short camping trips to dust out all the cobwebs you'll have with your new camper. Having a home-base to do minor fixes your first year of ownership is beyond priceless. It does take about a year to figure out all the different warranty issues, and all the minor changes you'll want to do yourself. And there will be issues. Some will be minor, others will be not so minor. But you will have them.

This is my suggestion, use your new camper a lot before actually hitting the road full time. Unlike an automobile, no rules for RV repairs are anything comparable to automotive repairs and the automotive industry. The RV industry is an animal all to itself and it works very slow.

That is what I have already learned from reading here and I am glad I did. So my expectations are already set that I will have to deal with issues and be prepared for some frustrations. That alone should make my first year much better. I'm expecting delivery in March, but won't be selling the house until probably June, so will likely fill several weekends with short trips and trial runs. Should be fun.

Welcome Aboard Greg! You have found the best place to learn about your new to be Montana. The 3791 is a great unit and you will enjoy it especially when you get to be in it full time next summer. Be sure to ask away on any questions you might have about it or about the workings of the Montana period. Don't think any question is "dumb" because all questions have a basis and that is how we all learn! Think about joining us at the National Fall Rally next September or any of the MOC Regional Rallies across the US held throughout the year. Also if you haven't signed up for the MOC Virtual Rally coming up in January sign up for it and learn from it also. Hopefully, we'll meet up somewhere along the way during our adventures in our Montana's!
