Theft warning

We're in Brownsville Tx. and we were talking to a couple with a Montana, not on the forum, and they told us their truck was broken into and they lost a purse and cell phone. Late model Fords can be broken into easily by prying the door handle frame away from the door panel and they can reach inside and unlock the door so I'm told. The police told them it is a common practice and have a lot of incidents reported. I told my son who has a 2002 Ford and he went and checked his and said you can pull on the handle while holding the door and it pulls away from the door panel. The lock becomes inoperable after they release it and then the door can't be locked. Again, just what I was told. Our older Ford does not have the flush handles like the newer ones do.

Dennis,

There is a similar thread regarding Dodge trucks over on RV.Net. Same MO as described in your post.
