Due diligence when driving is always important for sure . What a sad, sad, needless loss. As a professional for 37 years, it pains me to see when another is involved no matter what.
Sorry for this rant ,but I REALLY need to say this: I do know from first hand knowledge that the management at FedEx has instituted a policy of not hiring experienced drivers, and is "training" dockworkers to become drivers. You can "teach" people to drive trucks ,but it does take seasoning and not just everyone can do it. It is a sad fact. That company has become lax in its response to its employees and the public and only double-talks that they care about all of us. They need to change course.Unfortunate for Fred Smith,FedEx Founder who probably doesn't know what is really happening to that part of his company.
And, it isn't just FedEx, all the big ones are complicit in this and are " dumbing" down this profession. We all have a vested interest as RV'ers, we share the road with them and our other RV Friends. We just want to get there safely and enjoy our RV lifestyle.
