Propane/ electric heat

I’m new to rv living. I have a 2003 Montana. Is the furnace operated by propane only? I thought when I bought it only the stove and hot water heater were propane. If it can be electric where do I flip a switch?

Yes the furnace is propane. You do need 12vdc for it to run. If your batteries are weak or less than 12v it won't run.
Newer units have a heat pump in the rear Air conditioner. They are only good to about 40°F.

Eileen,

Welcome to the forum!

Furnace is propane only. Your water heater is likely electric and/or propane although I am not 100% sure on the early models.
