Big Foot or Sasquash?
Have you seen one?
What a question, I haven’t seen one but I was watching the history channel last night and I learned that KY allegedly has one and it’s called “Hillbilly Monster” or something like that. They even had a camera photo which turned out to be a bird. Now, on the more serious side, I’m sure that there are some strange things or occurrences some of us may have experienced out in the boonies so I thought it would be a good opportunity to ask this question. What is the strangest thing you have seen or experienced when camping or while out somewhere?
I’ll start with this. We were traveling behind a friend of ours one night when we seen a large black 4-legged animal with a long tail run across the road in front of our cars. It moved like a very large cat. None of us could say for certain what it was but we figured it was probably a panther.
Let’s hear your story and don’t be shy!

If I told of the creatures that we have witnessed up some of the hollows (for the hillbilly lesson of hte day, that is pronounced "holler") of the state, then I am afraid we would discourage visiting campers!! One thing we have wanted to see, but have yet to is the famed "Armadillos" that are supposed to be at Topsail Hill Preserve in Florida. We have yet to see one, but DW did get surprised by a "Pygmy Rattler" while bike riding last Tahnaksgiving. I missed it, but I am sure anyone in the vicinity (a mile or so) knew something was amiss!!

Bingo come on down to Tennessee its nothing unusual to 2 or more in our yard at night. Out Furr kid "Montana" goes crazy after them. Also for some reason they are allergic asphalt, when going into town (14 miles) you will see them with all four feet up . As for the "Hillbilly" haven't seen them but there are stange sounds at our farm at night. When my Dad was a young man (pass away in 62) he always rode a horse to the Barn Dances, big in those days. Well when he would return home there was a certain place around the ridge that the horse would get very excited and my dad always said something jumped onto the horse back one night and the horse was always nervous at that area?? GBY....

Wait a minute... think about it, we hear about hillbilly creatures, Bingo is a hillbilly, Bingo claims he's not seen them, I've not seen Bingo after a few drinks, I avoid the hollers and hence have not seen one..... I'm just thinking... nah... Bingo? nah...
I've only seen Armadillos in Texas and half of them were flat. The others were walking sloooooowwwly across the road and they were soon to be flat.

After a "tequila, Hooker contest" In Oklahoma City some years ago we saw several strange creatures some of which I am sure were aliens from like Pluto.

Many moons ago, I used to guard Pershing Missles at a location near Heilbron, Germany. The patrol I was in were watching the movie A American Werewolf in London. After the movie (2:00 AM), we did a patrol of the perimeter. We had 2 M-16's and a M-60 mounted on the vehicle we were in. Extremely dark as we proceeded. As we parked and observed, the most god awful snarling and grunting was coming from the forest. It was getting closer. Three GI's going "what the he** is that?" Mind you, we were armed. The werewolf movie was not helping at all.
To make a long story short, if there really were werewolfs, they would sound like the wild boar that visited us that night.
