Keeping the Refrigerator Running

OK, I should know the answer to this, but I still believe electricity is simply just magic. We are leaving our 2019 3811 at a purchased site over the summer. That is the good news. We will, however, only be able to visit 3 weeks or so because I still have to work, each visit separated by about a month, but want to leave the refrigerator running on shore power. What do I need to do to protect the batteries, so that they do not burn up, and still have power to the refrigerator? Feeling kinda stupid.

Really, Why? But, if this is really necessary, and you are plugged into shore power, there is nothing to worry about. Depending on what batteries you have, you might not need to do anything or if they are conventional lead acid batteries that have fill caps that you have to add distilled water occasionally, then this would be needed at each visit, too. Your converter is a smart charger and will maintain your batteries just fine. If you are not plugged into shore power, then this will not be possible as the batteries won't last that long.

Scott,

Agree with Bob. I would also recommend you shut your reefer down between visits.

How reliable is your shore power?

Thanks. The shore power is quite reliable, but recognizing that none is perfect I think we will just lock her down between visits.

Just be aware that if you don't have power most of the time, the batteries will not stay charged.
