Hello Again, Thanks for the greetings, it's good to feel welcome. I have enjoyed looking throught the posts on the various forums. The information has been helpful. I now understand how to use the automatic crossover for the LPG tanks.
This past year we traveled north into BC leaving home 6/10 and arriving back in Sonoma County in mid Aug for a wedding. On our way home was when we traded in our Wanderer 5th Wheel for our new Monty 2980. It has been a pleasure to tow behind our Ford P/U. We traveled east in September to Maine and then south to DC. It was a great trip and the fall colors were amazing. We saw many other Montys out there.
Have any of you stayed in NY state area? We stayed at Black Bear which wasn't too much. We took the NJ train into NY city which was fun. Stayed there for one week.
Take care and talk to you later. Mike S

Sounds some like some wonderful traveling adventures. We are looking forward to our drive through BC next summer on our way north to Alaska. And what a wonderful way to travel...in a Montana!

Wow, you've been doing some miles, Mike. Welcome to MOC!

We spent a week in the Cooperstown area while on vacation a few years ago. And in Niagara Falls back in 1981, using my folks' travel trailer. I was born in NY state and we want to spend some time there one of these days.

Thanks for saying 'hello' and telling us a little about yourselves.

Hello Smith 1035 and Welcome. I actually know where Cotati CA is! I worked at San Rafael for several years and we parked at the KOA in Petaluma. I also lived in Upstate New York for 10 years. It is very beautiful country but oh so cold in the winter. We will go back someday because Ed hasn't been to Cooperstown and I need to go again.

The people to talk about NY State are Glenn and Lorraine and Chuck and Carol as they live in upper NY State. We go over occasionally and have stayed in a few State Parks along Lake Ontario.

Smith 1035, welcome to MOC. We too know where Cotati is. Wife and I graduated from Santa Rosa High and lived in the area until 1970. There are others MOC members in your area also. Perhaps you can join us in May at Mt. Shasta for our first Western Region MOC outing.

Thanks for the warm welcome. We have enjoyed reading many of the posts. We are in the market for a bigger camper. We have looked at so many different campers. We think we have narrowed our search down to a Mountaineer 335RLBS. We really liked the quality and craftmanship of the Montana/Mountaineer's. Now the only problem is finding a dealer we are happy with. It's too bad Keystone won't sell factory direct. Hopefully it won't be long before we purchase our Mountaineer. Thanks again for the great welcome. We know we will enjoy our stay here.

Smith1035,
Welcome. Ref staying in NY. I have stayed at Watkins Glen State Park and if you get a good site you will have no trouble with your Monty. Some sites are not big enough. Definately do the glen walk from the top down and if you feel strong you can go from the bottom up. The laser light show is old technology but interesting information. Also suggest the harbor tour where they will normally tell you about the salt mining.

I have also stayed at Wescotts Beach near Watertown. There is a new, couple years old RV campgrounds on Association Island that is nice. Beautiful view. A two lane road to get to it. This is near Henderson Harbor. Letchworth Park is another nice tourist area so I have heard. Have not stayed there.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Hello Again, I last posted on the forum on the 4th. Much to my surprise and shock I had a heart attack later in the morning. I am happy to report that I am doing fine and a blocked artery has been opened with a stint. It was a big deal for a couple hours though as my heart actually stopped when the ambulance arrived at the ER. The ER crew did a great job with CPR and the fibulattor and got me started again within one minute. The doctors all report that there was very little damage to the heart and I should have a good recovery. I'm glad this happened at home rather then on one of our long trips across the country. Pay attention to your body and don't ignore those strange feelings inside. We probably won't be on the road again for a while but I do enjoy reading all your posts and look forward to pulling out of the driveway once again with our Monty in tow.
