What to bring to Quartzsite?

Since we are new to attending this "event" and there are no hook-ups, would you "veterans" share the necessities needed for a successful and enjoyable camp experience?

Thank you.

You will need a generator, empty waste tanks and a full water tank. We don't like to travel too far with a full water tank so we fill up in Quartzsite. As you leave town headed north on hwy 95 there is a business where you can dump your tanks, get water and propane. The water is only 5 cents a gallon. Quartzsite has restaurants, gas, limited groceries so you might want to stock up on food ahead. Several members have water bladders for getting more water and there are several companies will come pump your tanks. Above all come prepared to have a great time.

A mind set that doing nothing is ok. Bring a smile and a lot of laughter.

See ya there

There is the usual 5:00PM cocktail/appetizer to bring along. Also firewood is always needed for the evening fire. An outside table is nice to have. A little extra fuel for your generator.

Another thought, bring your passport if you plan to go to Mexico shopping.

No we do not take a group to Mexico, but there is always a group that wants to go down for a day. It is a fun day. Just ask around at the campfire and you will find a few that want to go.

Ron,
There is no "official" organized trip to Algodones or anything else at the Quartzsite circle, when people express an interest in doing something it happens, but if you wait till the campfire and say"Who wants to go to Algodones?" you could be the organizer.
Seriously, I'm sure there will be plenty of people wanting to go once they see our fantastic Flamingo stained glass window from Algodones.

Once again, BRING A PASSPORT

Walmart Supercenter in Palm Desert, CA. It is on Monterey just south of 10.
Monterey is an offramp. Not much in the next 130 miles to Quartzsite.
Most people in Quartzsite drive all the way to Parker.

For anyone who has not made the trip to Algodones you definitely should go. Also there is a new casino at the exit to Algodones. Also in the area is the new Walmart in Parker 40 miles to the north.

We have been to the one in Parker, but Palm Desert is right by 10 and should be on their way
if they are coming on 10 from California. It is also larger than Parker.

All great information....thank you!

One last note.

There have been so many first time boondockers to this rally, that have decided they can live very comfortably without hookups, all you really need are friends, and there will be plenty to go around.

We are so excited to once again be with our friends!

Thank you for all your "help" in telling us what to bring!

Looking forward to meeting all the new friends and all the "activities" planned.

PS.. we are in the middle of moving out of stick house and into Montana fulltime for a few years or so. So, we may pick our new friends brain on some info we are not aware of...or...not! Fun and warmth will be what we are looking for mainly and.... REST!

Looking forward to the New Year and new adventures!

Again, thank you all for your advise.
