RECALL Notice - Solar - Possible Incorrect Wiring
We received this RECALL Notice in the mail today regarding possible incorrect wiring of the solar system. Happy to say ours is correct, but thought we would share, especially for those who have a delay receiving their mail. Our Montana was "born" on 2/1/2022.
I did notice when checking today that my Shunt and MPPT were not configured correctly for the lead/acid batteries installed in my Montana. This was an easy fix, but frankly an oversight by the dealer for not configuring the system correctly during their PDI. Hoping the incorrect settings will have a long term impact on battery life since they weren't significantly different than those in the SolarFlex 400i Quick Start guide.

I also received this notice and performed the test. My unit is wired correctly however I missed the battery setting. I just checked and mine is also set wrong. It's set to Gel. What should it be set to? I peeked in the battery box and they appear to be maintenance free lead acid batteries.

Good decision to share on the moc. Am I shocked that keystone failed this assembly test...not at all. We have years of data on the failures of the factory to build a quality product, so building a more technical product should be no surprise. What I love about the moc is that the membership do all they can to be the first place to go to for quality information on the Montana. Go MOC!!!

I recommend you check the Keystone SolarFlex resources. I used the information for the SolarFlex 400i Quick Start Guide found on this page - https://www.keystonerv.com/owners-manuals
which says "NOTE: (Gel Victron Deep Discharge 1) battery
type is the default setting and preferred for Lead Acid Batteries". Depending on your system your setting may be different.
