Stabilizing refrigerator contents

We have a 2010 3400RL with the 4 door refrigerator. What do people do to stabilize things from moving around while on the road when you have such wide shelves?

Our fridge isn't that big, but our method is so simple that it works even though it is not intended to. We always have the fridge so daggone full that nothing could move if it wanted to. If we go camping for a weekend, DW takes enough food to feed the entire campground and all of their relatives!!! Seriously though, one thing that has popped up on the forum is to make darn sure that before travelling, that you double check the fridge and freezer doors for the audible click when the closing mechanism engages. It is possible for the door seals to engage and the door to not be fully closed.

I asked Betty and she said nothing really special other than common sense in packing and placing items together in the refrig. We have had no issue with anything breaking, spilling or jounced about.

I do use spring bars to hold stuff ON the shelves. But, agree with Bingo, FILL ER UP! I don't want stuff sliding around in there, will use pop to fill holes.

Don't have the big refrigerator , so I don't really have that problem. But, I would recommend you do just as you would for a cabinet ... if you don't fill it up with food, fill it up with stuff you have, like cereal boxes, other boxed food and/or rolls of paper towels. Also, the refrigerator tension bars are a must as far as I'm concerned.

Plastic water jugs where they fit work well either full or empty.

When a gallon of milk comes rollin out of the fridg because the click didn't happen, and spills all under the carpet, it do start smellin in a bit. Not an easy clean up.

As Mrs Country Guy said, use the spring loaded bars. They are cheap enough and do a super job particularly with the taller items.

You can get the refrigerator spring loaded bars at just about any RV Parts place. We used them in the 3400Rl, single door. Now with the double door we do as others, packed full. Milk and spillables go in the bottom storage drawer/shelf

I saw a really neat idea on one of the other rv sites on how to secure items on the shelves in the door...take one of those swimming noodles, cut it into about 5-6 inch lengths and stuff them into those open places on the shelf to make things nice and tight. I'm sure one could really be creative in figuring out how to make them work in the regular part of the fridge as well. The noodles are lightweight and don't take up alot of room. I thought that idea was rather ingenius!!

Brewskis fill up the empty spots well. In fact, I sometimes remove some of the food.................
