Bedroom Slide Adjustment

Has anyone adjusted their bedroom slide? My slide is dragging on the floor. I've looked at the mechanism under the bed and there is one piston in the center of the slide that opens and closes it. I can see what I think are adjustment nuts on the threaded far end of the rod. After taking all apart I was unable to break the nuts to try and adjustment. While I am pretty sure this is the adjustment place, I am not sure which way to adjust to stop the tilting in when the slide is moved in and out.

Make sure the wheels on the bottom of the slide are not broken or misaligned.

I've never adjusted the BR slide, but I know on our living slide, the nuts on the cylinder rod are to adjust the stopping position of the slide. There may be an amount of slack in this adjustment to achieve the proper in and out points. IIRC, the Lippert site has an adjustment procedure.

Don't have the 3400, but our Mountaineer has the wheels also. I could sure see ours dragging w/o them.

One wheel tore loose from the bed and caused it to drag(06 3400) it did that early on. You might want to check the installation of the wheels.

Leading edge of the bed platform, on the end towards the dresser.

You need to lift the plywood false panel under the bed so you can see the hydraulics . The wheels are screwed to the wood on both sides about 1/4 of the way from the foot of the bed. They need to be stright ahead and firmly attached .

I found the wheels being discussed. They are not very visible but I can see the indentation they make on the carpet. Weather or not they are working correctly it's hard to tell. My problem seems more complicated though.
As my slide moves in about half way - the back end (outside wall) tilts in severely causing the ward robe next to the shower and the other end next to the front closet to drag. I have to lift up on the top of the slide to stop the dragging and prevent damage. Putting the slide out...I have to lift up on it until it's about half way out where the weight is more to the outside and then it finishes opening OK. I'm stumped as to how to - or what - to fix! Thanks for your suggestions and pointing out there are wheels on the bed frame.

It does sound like you may have bigger problems than wheels but I would check them out and make sure they are firmly attached and at the proper height.. There is a adjustment for the bedroom slide, but I do not know how to do the adjustment. The bedroom slide on our 06 3400 was tilted to the left side(Looking at it from the outside, where it was grooving the black stuff underneith and eventualy cut through it. It was corrected at the service center . You might want to call them and see if there is a adjustment you can reach and do on your own.

Not sure it will help you, but here is the PDF that has some adjustments on the hydraulic slides from Lippert Components.

Richfaa- I can see how to do the side to side adjustment - I had it all apart. There are horizontal adjustment on the mounting brackets but no up or down or anything I can see to correct my problem.

SlickWille - Thanks for the PDF. They don't discuss the bedroom slide which is differently mounted compared to the other slides.

I think I am out of ideas on what's wrong or how to fix. Whatever happened also pulled the headboard mounting screws loose from where they are screwed into the outside wall under the plywood covering the the slide mechanism.
I think a trip to the dealer may be required when I get back home.

Steves, check and make sure the screws holding the slide to the ram at the wall is secure. I remember that being a problem for a few people in the past.

Steve..There is a vinyl/plastic rail that runs the entire width of the bedroom slide. You can only see it from the outside if you raise the bottom rubber seal. The slide runs up and over it when going in or out.Note that you can not raise the botom of the slide more than 1/4 of a inch (so said the service center) There are about 4 screws holding it to the flooring of the camper Two of our screws were loose causing a part of our problem. You might check to see if that rail is loose or has moved. I can see that if that rail moved forward or jammed under there it could cause your problem as well as the thing pulling loose from the wall??? It just never ends....
