Replace entrance door glass

We need to replace the glass in the entrance door. Where can you get a replacement? What have some of you done to make it better? Maybe vandalize proof. Ours got broken by thiefs. We did a temporary replacement with plexiglass. Any suggestions appreciated.

Ron and Nelly,

There are many RV places around your area. I'd start by asking some neighbors and or the management folks at your RV park. Someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Up in Phoenix they have a huge CW. There is also a CW sort of co-located with Beaudry RV in Tucson. We got our replacement glass down in Algodones, MX. It is one with a painted desert scene on it.

If you are worried about security I think I'd stay with the plexiglass.

Did you call Keystone and ask for a price on a replacement?

I had my unit broken into last spring and had new glass cut at local glass shop. In fact they cut me three extra pieces. Not that I needed it but it fell in with the minimum charge ($25). I still have the extras of course. I'm near Cincinatti, Oh....where are you? I think the entry door glass sizes are pretty standard. You're welcome to it. I don't know the exact size but it's easy to replace.

Like Hamrad, we got ours in Algodonis, MX. We found a Victorian style stained glass for about $35. Also, in some of the RV flea markets, I have seen them in various styles for about $80.

You might want to keep your plexiglas until you find a glass that pleases you....the cost from Keystone plus the shipping might be one expensive piece of plain glass.

Local glass shop for last one we got. Piece of cake to install. Why call Keystone? They get the door as a complete unit.

The wife and I were thinking of getting a stained glass replacement for our door for Christmas. Does anyone have links to the people who custom make them. I can find 2 on a Google search. Searched our board but came up empty.

Thanks

Sue do you still have the email or website of the young lady that makes this sort of thing? You remember the one that attended the Reno Rally.

She had some really nice stuff. Just wondering.

Thanks,

Dennis

Crittymcd@aol.com is the email for Christine who did ours. It was more expensive but I designed it with Christine's help. There will not be another anywhere. Part of the price is determined by the color of the glass in the picture. Her price included shipping and instructions for installation. It was easy to install and I believe the new one is in better than the original. Ours has now traveled thousands of miles with no problems. Christine was wonderful to work with. Here is a picture:

The picture that Sue is showing doesn't really do it justice. It is beautiful in real life! We have a window we purchased from Algodones Mexico, and we love it, but it is nowhere as strong or durable as Sues. Although we have traveled extensively with the window and it has stayed put way better than the original window that was installed. So.... for us it works, because if something should happen to it, well...Algodones is only about 25 miles away from where we live and would be easy to replace.
