OOPS!

Ok all I have a small problem. While trying to back into a spot that I think was built for a tent trailer. I had the truck and Monty pointing different directions (Jackknifed) I got the bottom of the Monty on top of a diamond plate tool box and scraped it up. The damage is not terminal but I am not a happy camper. Any ideas on what to use to touch up the area? I have no cracks but am missing some paint. O yeah....after jumping up and down screaming the campground decided that I might not fit into the spot and gave me another....Mike

Don't have any suggestions for you but do know that the first scratches/marks are the hardest ones to take. The rest come readily.

If it gets you a different spot, you will have to give instructions on your jumping up and down and screaming technique.

Find a shop that repairs fiberglass boats and ask them for ideas.

Mike I feel your pain.

It has reminded me that I need to look for a new bodyshop. My buddy has done my bodywork for the past 15yrs. just passed away. I was hoping that his kids (40 yrs. plus) would keep the shop open and continue the family business with their Mom. Nope, that's not happening. What a shame because this is where there Mom and Dad spent a good part of their lives.

I 2nd Cat's suggestion. Most of your boat shops that do fiberglass work should be able to fix it up for ya...

The boat shop would be a place to start. Also, I think I might look into moving the tool box in the bed so this doesn't happen again.

I hate that. Took out some posts once down at an RV park in Westport, Wa. small post, short, cut down telephone pole type, anyway had to replace some of the sheet metal on the roll under side in front of the wheel. My fault, didn't allow for the turning length.
Cost me $10.00 for a piece of metal from the place I bought it and hand formed it and did it myself. That was when I still had the stick house and shop
Boat shop is the best place for glass and gel coat repairs. If it is the metal part behind the cap, then take it to a paint shop and let them have (auto paint)it.

I don't know where you are but if you are anywhere near Goshen, IN, the best place to go for any kind of RV repair, whether body work or normal service is D & T RV Repair Service. We had some body work done last summer and their work was outstanding.

Sorry to hear about the damage,,,, I have noticed many state camp grounds and older camp grounds, the sites were not designed for 37 foot 5th wheels with 4 slides. some of these folk's that are taking your reservations don't have a CLUE.........
