Fridge doors

I got a little plastic thing with our four door RV fridge when we bought the trailer last year. I asked about it online and was told it is to keep the fridge doors from closing completely when the fridge is off. That is what I use it for and it works well.

DH thinks that it can also be used in some way to keep the doors shut when you are travelling and want the doors shut. Is this true? If so, how is it applied?

I am actually looking for a way to keep the doors shut during travel because on our way home from Florida recently, one of the freezer doors opened and my container of ice cubes escaped.

It is only maid to keep the doors open when the frig is off so you don't get inside! Have never had a door come open you mite want to check the door latch or were you on a bad road? I could see it happen.

There are lots of bad roads in the spring. We take US highways and interstates on the way home. The interstates were worse than the secondary roads.

We are thinking maybe a C clamp to keep the doors closed? We always make sure they are well closed after opening them.

What type of refrigerator do you have? We have had problems with the large lower doors on our 4 door open as we travel down the road. The dealer at the end of last season did some sort of adjustment on the center lock block, I hope it helps.

It is a 12 cf RV fridge. I will ask the dealership about it.

We use three sheet magnets on the doors of our 18cft and besides the magnetic effect of the sheets we use four very strong magnets per sheet to keep them in place. In addition we have four shower curtain rods that we use to keep things on the shelves and away from the doors.
