RV Show today

Went to the RV show today in New Orleans. They had 3 Montanas there. I could not believe all three new 2013 models had the Goodyear China bombs on them. You would think by now they would use a different tire. I could not believe it. I also noticed the new model did not have the hitch anymore. As far as price all three listed over $100K. Maybe the used ones are worth more now days.

I can't believe a unit like the Montana would come with those tires as standard equipment. My '04 Cougar came with Mission tires and eventually I paid the price for not replacing them soon enough. You would think that a camper at the price point of these Montanas would not skimp on tires, of all things. It's incredible to me that so many owners have to reach into their pockets to put the tires on the camper that should have been there in the first place.

The Big Sky option comes with the G6-14's.The increased price is due to the upgrades in Oct 2013 like the 12 inch frame and the full timer package. The new Montana is now priced out of my range.

The RV industry has now went the way of the Auto industry. The options are now standard at our cost. The RV use to be a low tech item now they have more toys included and we all pay for it.

Montana's retailing at $100k or more....wonder how far they are going to go to price themselves out of market share?

My problem is that not only would not we pay that, we have IS, hydraulic disk brakes and other options they still don't offer even at those prices. Luckily we're very happy with our rig.

Went to show in Syracuse yesterday. Three Montanas there - all had $100K + retail - all had "show price" around $65K. Like our interior better than the newer, lighter colored ones and didn't care for the front bath model - maybe after the kids have grown up...

Well now you are not going to pay the sticker price we all know that.30% off or a bit better is reasonable. But that is still expensive.

We just went to our dealer show a couple weeks ago. When I pressed our salesman as to where were all the Montana models that they used to carry were he said yes, we have put a lot less focus on the Montana line. They had many of a new line called Columbus, and some others. My repeated concern about replacing the Montana line brought a response indicating their pricing has perhaps been pushed up too far and they felt Keystone hasn't kept up with new popular floor plans, new decors and other exiciting changes. I guess only time will tell who is right.
