Skirting

What have you winter fulltimers used for skirting? I'm thinking I need it in ND.

I haven't used any, probably needed to though a couple times. But I seen someone use the thick blue foam (2or3" thick?) as skirting. He ran it long ways, cut it to form the ground, placed the other flat side up against the 5er, ran it between the tires and the fender and cut out around the utilities. Went on the outside of the jacks. Did not have anything under the overhang. Very nice job and said it made a big differance. Wish I had pictures to show.

I had a marine grade vinyl skirt made for out 3400RL in 07 and have used it winter and summer. Great for storage and sure helps keep warmer in winter. Easy on and off and folds up great for transport. Guy in Loveland, Co. makes them. There is also a site you can order what you want made and install yourself, a guy in the park did his that way this winter, looks good. Good luck

I went with this http://www.ezsnapdirect.com/products/rv-skirting and made my own using their kit. Worked very well and helped keep the 5er warm on those cold winter days (and nights!).

We are fulltimers currently living in the Montana mountains until June. We skirted with 1.5 inch white foamboard and taped all the seams with white duct tape. Works well for us, even with the high winds we've regularly had all winter. We did not tape the foam to the rig after seeing tape residue problems and damage to several other rigs in the KOA park where we are.
