Well, while everybody here is arguing about springs he got his answer on RV.Net.

He sure did and it was sort of unanimous. Sometimes we just overdo it here.

OK if its not the springs for the 1,500 difference...then what makes up the difference. I would put my money on the springs being the difference.

Bryan, I was sinceerely trying to give you some personal advice about this subject, but after being lambasted by several of the experts, I have decided to delete my post. I will refrain from posting on this thread in the future. Perhaps more training on my part is required. Sorry for the mis-information......

WELL! No question cabin fever has set in. Every thread seems to be controversial the last few days. Short tempers, no patience or regards. I hope everyone gets out soon. I'm planning on the first outing in March in Colorado. How about you?

They do not seem to have the hang ups about trucks a weights over there.. They normally go with the numbers instead of justifying what they are towing with.. another good reason to broaden your horizons by belonging to other forums and hearing other folks point of view.

Thanks Rich.

I do like that forum over there. Sometimes a bit rough but you get a lot of feed back. I've seen arguments over weight capacities there as well as here. I think that battle rages everywhere and almost everytime the subject comes up. When a newbie makes his first post about weights he has no idea what he is going to get unless he has been around a while. On the other side, when those of us who have been around a while see a post on weights we just know it could get "interesting."

It just seems with some folks that whatever choice they make on a purchase, it becomes their new found religion and they would fight an army of Saxons to defend their choice, regardless if it was right choice or not. When they aren't fighting to defend it, they are on missions to influence others to make the same choice (or mistake). I guess there is comfort in numbers.

I personally don't care if a guy tows with a half-track or a half-ton. I've already learned how to steer around them. I don't care what detergent he chooses or what stabilizers he buys. However, when I give advice I really try to be factual so the guy can be better informed than I was at the time. Pros, Cons, Facts, thats whole idea behind the MOC isn't it? If we are all masking the facts to let our own biases come through, the guy will never get an answer...... just an argument...... kind of like this thread.

I own a 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty diesel with the camper package. It has the identical engine, transmission, axles, tires, springs and stabilizer bar as the F350. Apparently the difference between the F250 and F350 is the price, weight sticker and the spacers that raise the rear end of the F350 two inches. If necessary, I'll add air bags to compensate for the spacers.

Exactly tom41, with the exception of the spacers, and I forgot to mention, the smaller fuel tank.
