Ordered the 2008 TV

We're finally starting to put our Fifth wheel dream in motion. This morning, we ordered our Ford F-350 Super Duty 6.4 Lariat, Dually, Crew cab, long box with everything we wanted. Although the dealer didn't have an actual price list, they ran the specs on it and printed it out for us with the prices. However, our dealer says there have been some delays and we may not get it for 4-5 months :-( That's really okay, though, because we don't expect to get the 5er until about then. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions, answers, advice, encouragement, and information, you're the greatest. Sue C

Congratulations. A lot of us are anxious to hear how the 6.4 performs. Please keep us posted. Sure feels nice to take a step toward your dream doesn't it? Good luck.

Does the 08 F350 come in single rear wheel? I didn't see it in the online info.

I believe that is the "standard option" but we chose dual, so it doesn't show up on our "order". Okay, we just scoured the ordering packet they gave us a copy of (with all the info and options etc to order from). It has one page with options for the single rear wheel model and another page with the dual rear wheel model. Also, when we first chose our options, it was with 18" wheels, but when it was spec'd out on the computer it was determined that the 18" wheels were only available on the single rear wheel trucks and we had a choice of 17" or 20". Hope this helps. Sue C

Congrats on the new rig. Hope you enjoy.

I do have one question. You are saying the factory is going to give a 20" wheel option on the dually?

Although they asked us which we wanted, 17", 18", or 20", it depends on which "model" you choose (XL, XLT, FX4, or Lariat). For Dual Rear Wheels, the only choice is 17" for the Lariat. For single rear wheels, the following applies: I sure hope this worked and answered your question. Sue C

Great Choice. I, for one, believe the 6.4is going to be great.

Our Ford dealer back in Ohio E mailed and said they now have the pricing for the 08 F-350's and can order them. Thanks to this forum we had that info long ago. Told them our purchase depends on the performance of the 6.4. That we have our new X plan pin. and they can pull our file and crunch some numbers and we will be back in town the first week of April. I have all the numbers I need and an crunch the numbers myself and come close. The issue is trading the 05 V-10 or selling it out right. A V-10 is easy to sell in our area and this very dealer, although this salesperson does not know it, told me he had a market (farmers) for the V-10 and to be sure to bring it back when ready for a diesel(he knew I would be looking in 08)This was not a salesperson but the owner who is a friend of ours. We shall see.. Would like to have the diesel when we pull to Colorado in July 08.

Rich...I sold my last TV (05 Silverado) on eBay. It was amazingly easy, got what I asked, and beat the dealer's trade by many thousands of dollars. The dealers are all glad to get your trade (if it's a good, relatively new truck), and they'll tell you they will give you top dollar. However, when it comes to putting pen to paper...not true, they will give you low blue book. And this is a dealer I have known personally for years and from whom I get an employee price.

CAT320 you are correct..I sold my last TV out right and got 4K more $ for it.. Just got a return E mail from my local dealer in Ohio. X plan price for a 08 F-350 1 ton equipped same as my 05 but with the 6.4 diesel is 42,653.10. Our 05 lariat has all the goodies less the moon roof. I do not want the Lariat again as I do not like leather seats at all and the XLT with the XLT sports package has the same stuff less the all leather seats and is 3K less MSVRP.I might add that at this time there are no known incentives for the 08 models but there is sure to be some at a later date. If the 6.4 proves itself there will be a diesel in our future this summer.

We saw the 6.4 at the Tampa RV Show. Wow, we we ever impressed. They would pull that new Big Sky like it wasn't even there. The ones we saw had 19" wheels but I couldn't tell the difference from our 18" ones that we have now.

The MSVRP for the 6.4 is 6545.00 the Invoice is 5432.00 You can get the 6 speed manual xmittion with 6.4(no charge) The 99R xmittion required with the 6.4 is MSVRP 1490.00 Invoice 1237.77. The 99r Xmittion IS recommended with the 6.4 which is a MSVRP price of 8035.00 for that combo which is the $8000.00 price folks were saying the 6.4 would cost because that is the combo always quoted.

So if you get the 6.4/99R combo it is 8035.00 MSVRP 6669 Invoice... all other options are comparable with the 07 year models. Most dealers are expecting the 08 SD's to be in their showroom by mid Feb. They also expect significant "incentives". We shall see ..performance will tell the tale once they get on the road.We can expect a"slight" decrease in performance/ MPG.. how slight is as yet unknown and the increase in fuel cost is also unknown. We are offered very high NADA on our trade 27K buying on the X plan. Since we purchased on the X plan
we paid, incentives included , 36K for the V-10 (actually a bit less) to we would see a 9K 2 year loss on a trade. You buy on the Ford plan but you trade the going NADA price which helps and as you can see the X plan price quoted us 42,653.10 for the 08 6.4 is, compared to the 36K paid for the 05V-10 is @ 7K or the invoice cost of the 6.4 plus a couple of other added goodies plus the cost of the X plan .That is all informational to us at this point as the 6.4 is something we would like to have but do not need to have.IF the 6.4 lives up to its PR and IF we can get one at the price we want to pay.... could be...

I am told that when you have the VIN number that means there is a scheduled build date,,not that it is being built. Our dealer said they could not estimate a delivery date if ordered now but the dealer expected to have some 08 SD'S on the lot in Mid fEB.

Take a look at... The OSASIS forum
