Just ordered new Michelin LTX M/S 2 LT265/70R17/E tires to replace my original Bridgestone Duravis tires with 73K on them. Hope I made the right decision. Going for a little smoother ride.

The tire wear has been very uniform. At 46k miles, I am almost 1/3 through my third set of tires. Now, we do live on a mountain with gravel roads. My BIL has also had severe wear on his Michelins. And, with worn tires, My drive is so steep that it is difficult to get up if there is low tread. I will talk to my tire guys about alignment, but they seemed to think Michelins wear faster than some others. Thanks for the replies.

Try XPS Michelin tires. Expensive but worth it.I have ran that tire on 2 different trucks and get good miage. I use traction tires.(4x4)

Ron, I might suggest you look at a set of Bridgestone Duravis R500 tires.

Might read the reviews in the link provided.

http://www.bridgestonetire.com/tire/duravis-r500-hd

http://www.tirerack.com/survey/Surve...irePageLocQty=

The other tire I would consider is a Toyo Open Country H/T with Tough Duty. That tire is designed for high torque diesel P/U's towing heavy trailers. That will be another option when I re-tire.

Have had good luck with Cooper HT tires. Had one set of Michelin's did not like the ride or wear.

I like the ride of the Michelins, but will definitely look at some of the suggested brands next year.

Nothing wrong with Michelens Ron and all I got around here are gravel and steep roads so not sure why that could be an issue. BFG's are also good. The warranty is 70k miles and I rotate them every other oil change. Good luck.

Just removed the original Continentals with 40K on them and they were at the wear bars. An employee at my local independent tire shop had a buddy who remoced his original Michelins and rims and installed a lift kit and big ol'mudders. Why do poeple do that to a nearly new truck? Anyway, I bought the Michelins for $300.00 and paid the shop $20.00 each to swap them off the truck, mount, balance, and replace. They supposedly have 4500 miles on them. They look good. We'll see how they look after 40,000 miles.

Well, Michelin is picking up almost half of the cost of four new tires. I guess that Michelin has seen their 70k tires wear quicker than that. Their new tires are 50k mileage tires. Will have new Michelin Defenders tomorrow.

I liked my adjuster better. As posted on 6/9/15 in this thread they paid 2/3rds the cost of my replacement and that was after 35K miles. The new tires in June were still 70K mile tires. Jim

48K on my Michelins and nowhere near the wear bar, replaced them with the identical because they were 6 years old.

I had the best luck with Firestone Transforce on the Ram. Never ran Michelin but Goodyear and General prior to the Firestones. Generals seem to wear fastest of the three brands.

Im not so lucky with my Firestone Transforce on my Ram. 29,500 miles and almost to the wear bars. Maybe 5,000 miles left.

On my second set of Michelin LT265 70R18s....LTX A/S 2. Original set lasted 45,700 miles and still had tread to go at 45,700 milesbut it was November last year and we were headed to the Keys over Christmas - with our previous RV. The second set now has about 26,000 miles on them and they are wearing evenly and are at 9/32 right now. I am a satisfied Michelin customer!

I'll be lucky to have the OEM Firestone Transforce AT last 15k. They have 50% wear at 6700 miles.

Good info. I'm also getting fewer miles on my Michelins. My M/S 2's have about 32k on them, and may get another 8k out of them. I've gotten 60k out of this series of tires previously. Very disappointed! When we get back from our next trip, I'll check with my dealer about credit for replacements

We run Michelin tires on our truck and fiver. We check air pressure before every trip. We also check tire temps while on the road with infrared heat gun....especially when in AZ during the summer. Have never had a failure. Wear is uniform and usually end up replacing due to age versus tire wear. Just replaced tires on my personal vehicle (Acura MDX) from Hankook to Michelin, what a huge difference in the ride. We are very satisfied Michelin customers.

Just another opinion, Michelin's on current and previous F-250. Got great mileage out of them on both. 40,000 plus.
