Decals

Ok, I know this topic has been tossed about but I have to ask: My '07 decals are in bad shape and I have been holding off doing anything so what is the best replacement route now that '07 graphics are now longer available and the newer style are of different size??

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Option 1. Go to local graphics shop and have the one(s) you need made, or option 2. take the old graphics off and leave them off. If Keystone can't provide a better graphic then why should we (at our own expense and labor) advertise for them. I am going through the same thing right now. I have removed the front Montana graphic (not mountains) and do not know yet if I will put on the new ones Keystone sent me a few years ago.

I can describe what I did on my 2008 to get them off and get rid of the shadow. I also was undecided when I was finished with the right side. I replaced the "Montana" wording toward the rear/right but hadn't put the mountains back on because it looked so nice without them. The gloss in the finish came back better than new. I removed the old decals and made sure all the glue was off. I used a variable speed polisher set about 2400 and applied Eager Buff 600 (http://www.eagerplastics.com/eagerbuff.htm). If you follow their directions on applying it you can't go wrong. Just don't use too much. One or two applications, plus the final wax coat will remove the shadows of the old decals and you will not believe the deep shine. When I was finished the lighting had to be just right, and only on certain days, before you could even pick out the hint of an old shadow line. And even at that there were only a couple of places. 90% of the surface on that side was shadow free. We traded prior to finishing so I never had to make the final decision on replacing all the decals. I probably would have replaced the "Montana" lettering but left all the other mountain scenes off.

While ours are not coming off (knocking on wood), what do you use to get the shine back on them, they have a dull appearance to them.

Thanks,

looks like I need to buy a polisher and I hope to find eager polishing compound in area.
i'm not sure I will put the Montana decals back. I was thinking about putting Virginia across the front. can I can in trouble for doing that?.

paddler67, you may get some of your decals from c215dick. I believe he may have a few left over after re-doing his recently. Also, when I got my Eagerbuff compound a couple years ago I could only get it mailed from factory. That may have changed since then though. If you get some remember to follow directions and use just a little bit, about as much as you would put on your toothbrush, for doing an area 2'x2'. Use spray bottle and keep it damp until buffer starts to bring out shine at slow speed. Directions are on can. Stuff is great!

I was at a used RV dealer this morning looking at what they had. I asked about the Montana decals since they looked new. They told me that they had a lady that comes, takes pictures of the old decals while they are on the rig and then comes back with new decals she puts on after she takes the old ones off. They said they don't want to sell rigs with peeling decals and it doesn't take the lady long to take off the old and put on the new.

Thanks,
I have never found anything that will do that. Maybe someone has some recommendations.

a rv dealer told me they used heat and a razor blade. I looked at the fifth wheel that they done and you could see where all the decals were.
a polisher and compound seems the best.
thanks for the information.
