I had hoped never to post on this subject but after our "crappy" day yesterday, I must warn others. Never let someone sidetrack you when you are using the back flush. Bill had drained the black tank yesterday (Thank you God) and used the back flush like he does about every 4 days or so when we are hooked up to sewer. He usually fills the black tank about 1/3 full after draining and then flushes. One of our neighbors come over and started talking to him, then wanted to come inside to get some info from me so Bill brought him in, forgetting about the black tank. All of a sudden water and stuff started to pour out of the laundry room. The kitchen got filled and it was a real MESS. Our washer drains into the black tank and now I know that the black tank drains in the washer too. I don't think that will ever happen again.

Sounds like it might have been a good couple of nights to sleep out under the stars - while Monty airs out a little...

And you might want to be on the upwind side...

Helen and Bill,
I am so sorry to hear of your problem with the backflush. I suspect it is just a matter of time. I've come close a couple of times and that is as close as I want to get!

I hope it cleaned up easily.

Take care.

Helen,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope everything was able to be cleaned up and back to normal without to much damage.

Adding a post just to bring this thread up again for others to add to it as mentioned in another thread.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Second time out in our 3000rk we had 4 disasters in one day.

Disaster 1 ..I was standing outside the Montana checking clearance as my wife was extending the living room slide when I heard a crash from inside. The drawer under the fridge had come open and wedged in the slide. Had to dismantle the drawer as the slide refused to budge.

Disaster 2. After removing the drawer I asked Susan (Wife) to extend slide.I was busy making sure the slide was functioning inside when I heard a crash from outside.. yes you guessed it, we had gone over the top of a outside lighting fixture at the site !!! rear outside edge of the slide at a new aerodynamic 45 degree angle. Lucky this slide edge is made out of recycled coke cans and bent back almost perfectly. I also fixed the lighting.

Disaster 3. Took a shower and got dressed and went to local casino. I figured we had our share of bad luck and were 'due' some good.
Came home to a wonderful undocumented water feature in our Montana. I had left the shower running at the faucet.

Disaster 4. After draining the water out of the belly by taking off the blackstuff (and getting soaked in the process) I hit my head on the edge of the bedroom slide.

Ever since that day we have managed to avoid disaster.

However each day holds great potential.
