We sold our Prowler last year after buying the Montana. We advertised in the local paper and had probably seven or eight people look at it until one lady returned the next day with cash. We probably could have sold it before that, but I was having some minor repairs made and had to wait for it to return from the local shop. That took some time as we were in the peak of the summer camping season.

I put my travel trailer on consignment at a local RV repair shop.
It sold within a month.

I tried selling our used 5th wheel on several web sites. Absolutly no one called. I take that back several dealers and one private party over a 3 month period. Advertised in local print media. No luck. Put it on display on a very busy road and it sold the next day.

Those web site things hardly ever work,I posted my TT in places of business around town and it sold in one day.As a matter of fact the person that bought it was the owner of a place I posted it.

We sold our Wilderness 5th wheel in about a month by advertising in the local paper in late spring. A local RV dealer would have bought it for about $3000 less than we got for it privately. Also got a call from a web advertiser "guaranteeing" our unit would sell "or your money back".

G McCall: We Just sold a 2003 2955RL a week or so ago. We put it on consignment with a dealer in the area and the second looker bought it. Sat on his lot 4 days I think.

I am hoping the website idea will work for the money I spent, but I am open to all options. Thanks for the input.

Don't forget to list it also on www.craigslist.com

It's a great place to list and buy from.... and it's free!

We have sold and bought cars and furniture off of it. We've stop placing ads in the newspaper and solely use craigslist now.

When you go to www.craigslist.com look at the right side of the screen. Click on a city that is nearest your location. The screen will refresh and then all the categories on the left side of the screen are for that city and surrounding areas.

Click on the "cars & trucks" category and take a look around. At the top of the category page is wording something like "to post an ad". Click on that and then follow the directions. They also let you post up to 4 pictures free.

You can almost find anything on craigslist.

Craigs list has worked for me also, I have sold furniture and a truck lumber rack within a few days of placing the add. You do have to keep renewing the placement of the add every few days or it will get buried on the page.
