20 Second Emergency Evacuation Plan

Hi Everyone!

Our emergency plan keeps getting a larger audience. Thus, WE ARE MOVING TO THE AG BUILDING. Same time Friday 8-10.

The AG building is located right next to the ECCC building. We will be there at 7 working with the Goshen Fire Department setting up and opening the building around 7:30 if you wish to bring your extinguishers in for an inspection. After the presentation, we will head outdoors for some exciting additional hands-on fire safety exercises in 4 different rotating groups.

Grab some coffee at the ECCC before you head over to the AG building and meet some new friends along the way.

Good Morning!

Last reminder we have moved from the ECCC building to the AG building (same as packet pickup) from 8-10.

Here is how it will go with a signup group of nearly 200!

A short presentation on the causes of RV fires will be inside by the GFD. We have chairs arranged for you in 4 groups. After the presentation, you will be moving outside in your groups rotating through the various stations.

Volunteers are needed in each group for the fire escape from a real RV within 20 seconds. The "smoke" is nontoxic and you have important items to try and find during your escape.

We need volunteers from each group to use fire extinguishers to put out a real fire in a pit provided by GFD. Want to guess how long your little white one lasts???

You will move through the fire extinguisher inspection area learning may be why you don't want that little white unit that came with your rig. And the one in your truck, is it right or not right?

The last station is the fire truck and ambulance learning about why your first aid kit is or is not properly put together with the right items. Do you have one in your rig and your truck?

For those that want an inspection of your extinguishers, a table will be ready at 7:30 where you can drop it off before the presentation. Make sure your name and site number are on it. For a fee, there will be available internal inspections and refills if you choose. Proper RV extinguishers will also be available for sale.
