Residential Fridge Ice Make

I have 281CK. The refrigerator has a water dispenser/ice maker that is not getting water. I located one on/off valve under the sink. Looking at the diagram it looks like there is another behind the refrigerator. Before attempting to pull the refrigerator out, is there anything I should be aware of or take into consideration?

First look in the cabinet next to the fridge, possibly behind a drawer if it has one.

The elusive 2nd valve has stymied many members. No one has needed to pull the refer to find it. It is normally in an adjacent cabinet space depending on the model. Usually removing a drawer will expose it.

You might crawl under the slide the refrigerator sits in and look up. You'll see a flexible water line attached to a very long spring. See if the valve is under the slide.

I would also add that in my case, I had to remove a panel at the rear of the cabinet. 6 screws removed the panel, then the valve was visible. They really work hard to hide those things.

Take the rear wall of the drawer cabinet out next to the refrigerator. There should be obvious screw heads showing. The 2nd valve is behind it.

Our second valve was behind a false back in the cabinet to the left of the refer. It took another Montana owner to show me and there was a label. The dealer walk thru did a piss poor job on this little detail.

Unfortunately, they dealer had to come fix a water leak that DID require dealer intervention to fix as they had to pull out the refer to get to it.

Now the DW (and the dog that is an ice monster) are all happy that the ice maker is working and cranking out ice in this 100+ weather.

It's behind the couch next to the fridge under a black cover. I had to unbolt the couch from the floor and move it to get access.

I have a 2019 3091RD with a residential refrigerator. The 2nd valve was hidden behind the back wall of the cabinet next to the fridge. I took everything out of the floor cabinet and needed to remove 6 screws on the back wall of the cabinet. Remove the wooden panel and the valve is near the floor.

Ah Carl got you on this one. on ours the valve is in the back of refer on the side. unless your arm is 1 1/4 inches thick you will have to pull the refer to get at it.

The Old World Craftsmen get more and more devious all the time. I stand corrected. Thanks.

In the 2021 3231ck it’s in the bottom of the cabinet left of the refrigerator. A label was on mine.

Yep, I see the panel.

Thank you! I just got home. Was doing some online research before I got there. So now all I have to do is empty the drawer and pull it completely out. No wonder they didn't mention it in the PDI.

My ice maker stopped working once and it ended up being a clogged water filter. Something to check if the valve isn't the problem.

Is the water filter on the back of the fridge?
