Iota idp240

Converter failed on my 5th wheel.
Found a wrecked Montana and it has the IOTA
panel.
Is the converter part of the panel or is it stand alone?
If it's standalone..where might it be located?
Wrecked trailer is laying on it's right side.
Thanks
David

PS I don't know the year of this Montana.

I have this one. The part number is on a sticker inside the fuse box cover. It has both the fuses, circuit breakers and converter all in one.

The converter can be physically part of the power panel, but wired as a separate device, or a separate standalone box. Without know years of the doner (or your rig) I am only speculating.

The Iota came in mid-2000 Montanas. Usually these had green, or blue, and maybe early early year brown swoop decals. The Iota converter was mounted on the passanger side behind the passthru wall. It just pluged into a 120V circuit and ran 12V to the fuse panel. It should be adaptable to your rig. I would be sure it works before going too far.

If it is an Iota (likely a DLS 45) it is a single stage charger. Buy the IQ4 plug in module (~ $25) to make it a full 4 stage charger.

Carl thank you for the reply.
I am able to crawl inside the wreck and get to the IOTA panel.
Do you think the converter is in the same space as the fuse panel?
Then if I remove the fuse panel I may be able to get to the converter.
Thanks
David

P.S. If the weather holds my son and I will go to the wreck tomorrow or Saturday.

Also, on my 5th wheel the shore power cord comes out on the driver's side.
The cord is stored in a compartment and it has my converter in there.
I could not find a shore power cord on the driver's side of the wreck.
I can't believe it would be on the passenger side.

Once again I have no idea what RV you have and what RV you are cannibalizing. In the early Montanas with an Iota panel the converter was separate. it was usully located behind the fuse/breaker panel so maybe by pulling the panel you can get to it. I always went in through the back wall of the pasthru compartment to reach the converter.

On a Montana. the shore power cord is on the back of the RV. Real early models had it centered in the rear, 2004 or so it moved to the lower left corner and has remained there until now. Montana has always (AFAIK) the converter close to or integrated with the fuse/breaker box. I am guessing you don't have a Montana is the converter is at the back near the shore power connection.

Thanks for the reply Carl.
In real big letters it says "Montana" on the front and rear of the trailer.
I will look in the locations you mentioned.
David

P.S. When I go there tomorrow or Saturday, I'll take a pic of the wreck and post it if I can.

Went to the wreck this morning and located the shore power plug on the left rear.
Followed the cord into a compartment that is used for storing the hoses for the black and grey water tanks.
Maybe the converter is in that compartment.
I will find out this afternoon.
Thanks for the help with this.

Got the converter this afternoon.
It was behind the Iota distribution panel.
Wfco 55 amp.
Also took the air ride 5th wheel box or whatever it's called and a 30 gallon propane tank.
Thanks for all the help.

converter failure

I have a 295RKD int he converter was a separate unit. They stashed it in the pass through compartment, behind the wall all the way in the back. The AC plug was attached to the power panel rear. I posted some pictures. It was not a fun job. Since it was a separate unit, I purchased one from Amazon. A little better than the one that was in the unit. I remounted it where it was more accessible. Works great and has all the power I need. Good luck
