I-75 Closure

Just a heads up for anyone traveling on I-75 through Detroit...it's closed. There was a tanker fire last night (7/15) that collapsed the the over pass on to the freeway. If you are traveling North, take I-275 to I-696 back to I-75. That will bypass the closure. They are saying it will be awhile before it opens again.

Thanks for the headsup Dennis. When we go north from here, we take I75 to I23 and take I23 all the way to Flint, therefore bypassing Detroit.

Saw that on the news. Still didn't know if anyone was killed, but hard to believe there where no casualties. We never take that route. Like Steve, going north out of Toledo is way better going up US-23 to Flint.

On Edit~ There apparently were no injuries - as per the latest news reports. Unbelievable. Road will definitely be out of commission for quite a while.

As of today, 7/21/2009, I-75 has reopened in both directions.
