Space beside microwave

Need suggestions. DW wants to know what y'all use the little space between the microwave and wall for. She can't figure out what to put in there. Looks like a space for cook books, but she says that she don't need to take cook books camping. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would think it is your/her option to use it as you please. There are no "rules" and it IS your Montana!

Sorry Steve, Patti puts her RV cook books there! And, yes, she uses them a lot for carry-ins.

Steve, Lynn added a shelf in the middle and we put coffee cups on one level, a can of coffee and container of filters on the other. Our coffee pot sits on the counter below. It works well for us

We put our butcher block/knife set there. Has rubber feet so it doesn't move while traveling. Perfect size for that spot.

Joyce has cook books and a cutting board up there. She also used to keep the paper towels up there until we found another solution to that.

Steve, I built a rack out of black walnut to hold two rolls of paper towels...when you finish one roll just flip it around....and there ya go...another paper towel....Emmy also keeps a small cutting board about 8 1/2 x 11 in the slot as well...

As others have said, use it for what you want, but, here is what we have in ours:
* Food Chopper
* Tea bags & those little thingy's that you put a used tea bag on
* Kitchen timer
* Corn on the cob trays & holders
* Coffee filters
* Those foam insulating jackets to keep the beer can cold
* Small cutting board
* Salt & pepper
* Spices
* Oven temperature thermometer
* Cooking spoon rest
* Small LED flashlight

That's what is in there now, I'm sure once we stock for our first trip DW will find more things to put there.

Here's our take on both the space between the microwave and the refrigerator, and where to place the paper towels. And yes, we don't pack anything up when we travel; everything stays in its place.
