Factory Option Goodyear G614 Tires

Hi,

Does anyone know the retail cost for the factory option of the G614 tires?

Thanks!

I paid $800 for the G614's and the upgraded wheel on my SOB order.

I tried to get them last fall when ordering 2012 3585SA and they would not sell them to me without buying Big Sky package. I said no thanks!

In 2011 when we ordered our 3580RL I also tried to get the G614's and they would not give them to me without taking the Big Sky Package. I got the Big Sky Package down to $6,000 and I took it and real glad I did. The tires and wheels, full body paint, 6 point leveling and shower are well worth it to me. Our 2011 Big Sky was produced 2 weeks before they changed the mfg year to 2012.

Thanks for the replies. Just wondering because I am being told $1195 is dealer cost which I thought someone on here had said was full retail at the factory level. They screwed up our order and did not do the factory G614s so now we are trying to get them replaced at the dealership level.

1195 dealer cost for FIVE G614s(there are five on my 3402 Bigsky) would be cheap..

Thanks Rich, that makes me feel a bit better then. And I did make sure they were doing five, just to be sure they didn't forget the spare!

Rich, Wouldn't that just be the difference between 5 marathons and 5 G614's? Jim

Have no idea. I was assuming that the dealer was going to sell him 5 G614's for 1195.00. If that is 1195.00 over the cost of 5 marathons it may not be such a good deal.

The G614's were OEM on the big sky. Have no idea what the dealer cost would be???

I might have been confusing there. They want 1195.00 to put on five G614's at the trailer dealership. So they keep my Marathons and it's an additional 1195.00 to get the G614s. So I was basically wondering if that was about what it would have cost me had they done it correctly at the factory and put on the G614s.

well the 1195.00 IMO is a good price for 5 G614 tires,But..you paid for the marathons so you have $$ invested in them. The dealer will no doubt sell your marathons to make up his difference..

Me..I would put on the G614's for 1195.00

I can't document it but as I recall a couple of years ago they asked the group at the rally if we would pay a extra 1500.00 for the G6 14 tires as a option.. Any one else remember that or the amount??

I think $1100 is overpriced considering you already paid for and have the Marathons. Camping World was running an add two weeks ago and had G614's for $325 per tire installed, including free rotation for life of the tire. As Rich has stated, the dealer will sell these tires and make additional profit on top of what you just paid them. Question: are your current wheels able to handle the higher PSI rating of the G614's? As I previously stated, my SOB also comes with Marathon's standard. I paid the additional $800 and upgraded to the G614's. That also required a wheel upgrade as well as the standard wheels were not able to take the higher air pressure.

Thanks for the replies Rich and Montana Sky. It is a 2013, so the wheels should be fine for the higher psi.

As Montana Sky stated that C.W price of 325.00 per tire , I assume tax included is a real good price. That is 1625.00 for 5 tires. We see them in the 350/385 range. If that 1195.00(239.00 per tire) is installed I do not think that would be a bad price. The dealer could make up the difference in the Marathons. (500.00)

Thanks Rich. The dealer is still going to make out pretty good. They are supposedly selling me the tires at factory cost to them, but in this case since it wasn't done at the factory, they end up with the set of Marathons to sell like you said. So they don't just "break even" for selling to me at cost, they'll still make $500 or whatever. Not trying to sound greedy, just was hoping still that they were going to do something for me for all this trouble and extra time waiting for this second trailer to come in

If you don't feel the deal is right, you could always threaten not to buy the coach when it arrives if the dealer does not take care of this mistake. Many other shops out there would love to earn your business. Just a thought...

X2 on this. Considering everything you've been through it's about time you got nasty with someone over something and the tire issue would be a good place to start. It's a long story, but when we bought our rig Joyce threatened to drop the whole deal over something the salesman did and we got another $500 off the price to get her back in the fold. Wasn't on purpose and he deserved it, now considering what's happened to you.........

Thanks Montana Sky and Dick. You are probably right, I should push them a bit on this. I have tried to be as patient as can be, but I have five emails and probably just as many calls JUST regarding the tires going clear back to March, and they still managed not to get it right on the order. I will be so glad when this is over and we finally take delivery (from someone!)...

If the 614's are on the order then why would you even consider paying anything for them, just because the factory messed up does not relieve them of their (both Keystone-Montana and the dealer) obligation to provide the complete order. On another note, when we did the swap (614's were not an option) the dealer credited me $500 for the Marathons towards the purchase of 614's at Sam's Club. I think the difference then amounted to about $900. The 614's are at least $100 more for each one than they were then.

Thanks Bingo. Basically they never made it on the order. They weren't available when we ordered the first trailer, so when we ended up having to order the second trailer it was an option which I tried to add. Apparently this was too difficult for them to handle and they did not get added. So, I do owe them the cost of adding the G614s I'm just not sure how much is reasonable at this point. The are telling me the dealer cost for the option is $1195, so they are just charging me that as if it was factory ordered. So that was my original question, is if they are $1195 supposedly dealer cost, I was just curious what the retail cost is for the G614 option.
