Dometic Elite 2+2 Problems?

I am seriously considering "re-doing" my one slide's configuration. Since we are planning on spending 3 months in warmer weather, we would like to switch my original 8 cu ft refrig to a 13 cu ft Dometic Elite 2+2. Also, I will be replacing my monster tube television with a flatscreen.
If you have this refrigerator, could you please tell me if you have had any problems with it being in a slide or cooling? I have read that this refrig is having some issues regarding not having a roof vent (due to the slide) and some consistent cooling issues.
Thanks!

We have the Norcold side by side and its suppose to be a good unit. and after a year running nonstop in the southwest Florida climate 90 Deg + and 100% humid and the ice cream is frozen and the unit is set to 6 tells me is performs well. but the durability over the long term, Who knows.

We have the Dometic in a slide and have had cooling issues all along. It will work great for weeks at a time, then struggle to cool for awhile. Yesterday, it was at 47 during the afternoon. It is set on the coolest setting. Tired of throwing food out. I wouldn't recommend one. We are waiting for the service guy to call us and set up an appointment. We are seriously considering a residential to replace it.

I have dometic in a slide 2015. They had a problem in past years because of not enough cooling in the back of the unit. Mine has 4 computer fans and lower part of upper vent is closed off to force the air from fans to go through fins. This is how I received it from factory. I had my camper in Tennessee in June. It was 97 out. I kept it at a setting of 4. The temp in ref. was 34.

On our 2015, our four door dometic failed after 30 days because of faulty installation on the production line. The replacement has worked fine, but ran hot, and the four external fans ran all the time and temps would hit low 40s on a hot day. Because slide installed (heat rises)) heat instead of flowing out of a roof vent naturally, has to hit a baffle and go out sideways, pushed by four small fans at the top vent. Ours now runs consistently in the mid 30s as a result of an inside fan added to circulate air inside the frig, and more importantly a larger 4 inch blade fan I installed behind the bottom vent to push heat up and out. The frig has been working great on the #3 setting since. Time will tell, but I am optimistic.

Part of my irritation, Dick. We had the same rig as you, and same as you trouble free. Wish we had never bought the new one. Stupid me!

Thanks so much for your honest replies! I may stay with what I have-an 8 cf Dometic that has given me 12 problem free years!
