Anyone else here despise the fresh tank drain?
It seemed every time I wanted to open that drain, I was on gravel, wearing shorts! The knees took a beating kneeling down, reaching under and unscrewing the cap. Soooo, today I took off the cap, put on a 1/2" PVC elbow, ran a PVC pipe straight back, and ended it with a PVC ball valve. It's anchored underneath with galvanized plumber's tape to the cross-members between the frame. No more kneeling down to drain. No more gravel imprints in my knees! I'd post a picture if I could, but I have no idea how to.
P.S., it probably goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: Be sure and maintain some downslope on the extension tube.

Ours came from factory with a valve already on it.

Mark, excellent solution. I will probably copy what you did.

I put a ball valve on mine as well, I like the extension idea, I could run it out near the rear bumper. Thanks for the Idea!

I like this idea. Ours has a flexible hose hanging down with a valve in the end. It's a long reach to get to it.

I've been thinking about doing this for a while now. Just lazy, I guess, since I haven't done it. Thanks for the boot in the rear.

Put a valve on ours years ago. Much easier to deal with.

I use a set of kneepads every time I'm under the rig and not just to drain the fresh water tank which I rarely use anyway. The kneepads work great on any surface. Unfortunately, I got some cheap ones about 6 years ago and the strap being elastic and is starting to stretch outta shape. My next set will be better.

Myself, I would like to see a larger fresh tank drain hose. It takes forever to drain a full tank with that 1/2" hose that is on there.
I have seen a couple SOB's with larger drain hoses, like around 1-1/2" diameter, and it cuts the time down immensely.

That is a great tip. I'll be doing the same on ours even though we don't use it very often.
