Mor Ryde Sliding Cargo Tray on Order

Finally fulfilled the purchase of one item that has been on the "want" list for years. Just ordered the carpeted sliding cargo tray in a 26" width that will span the entire basement. Our basement measures at 29 1/2" (2014 3850FL) and while they offer a 29" width, I prefer to have a little room to spare on the basement wall to allow for hanging of a few items that will not be on the tray. Although it will primarily be used as a pull out on one side only, for some reason the 90" model was cheaper than the 60" model in a 29" width. For those that may have an interest, I purchased from RadAuto.com whose prices for these trays are the cheapest I have seen anywhere. $425 and free shipping is unbelievable for a tray that lists usually between $500-$600. This is not an endorsement but rather just relaying info on a great price that I found.

Sounds like a pull-out bed when the wife tells you to go to your room. The pull-out feature makes it easier to make the bed when you are in there for extended periods (he says with a smile on his face). John

I believe the 29 x 90 tray is about 138 pounds but I am not sure since there is conflicting information on the web. The 26 x 90 tray that I ordered is listed on some sites at 75 pounds, so neither one makes a lot of sense as to weight. The only way to find out for sure is probably to call Morryde. They will answer a web site inquiry with a phone call (I was seeking the actual widths and they called me direct). Just as a matter of information the 29" wide tray is 28 3/4" inches in width.

As a follow up to the weight, I think the 138 pounds is a little light for the 29" tray. The 26" tray that I just received had a shipping weight of 145 pounds according to the truck bill of lading. Installation will be this weekend, so pics should be posted on this thread Sunday or early next week. The bad thing is it is supposed to be 38 degrees here Saturday, installation may be delayed until Sunday when it is supposed to be a little warmer at 55 degrees.

Our sliding tray is 18 1/2 inch's wide and weighs 80lbs.I do not recall the wider one being on the market in 2006 when we got ours or I would have bought that one. It sure is handy and saves Helen from having to crawl into the compartment. It holds 5 large size milk cartons with a bit of room left over.
