Advice on mounting LED TV

Hi gang;

I have a 2005 Montana with the heavy CRT TV in the living room that I will be replacing. We have several existing threads on those who have done this and I've looked at them all. My question is that once you pull the CRT out what inside the enclosure is sturdy enough to mount the VESA bracket to?

[I pulled this picture from one of the earlier threads as I haven't taken mine apart yet] It looks like the right wall is the slide that you don't want to drill into and the back appears to be just the thin paneling. I would think that the bottom panel that the original TV was resting on would be the ticket but how thick is that base and will those swivel TV mounts allow you to mount the bracket to the bottom instead of a back or side wall?

It's just going to be a 32" Samsung so the weight won't be too bad. I'm sure it will be pretty self explanatory once I get it pulled apart but things gotta warm up a bit up here before I do that. Just looking for ideas.

Thanks!!

I built a door out of 3/4 oak plywood, stained and finished to match cabinets. Hinged the door and drilled and mounted the TV on the door. Gave us all the area in the back for storage. Made a very solid mount for traveling.

I installed a Morryde TV mount. Into the same place in my RV. I did re enforce the the shelf by adding a piece of 1/2" plywood about the size of the shelf. I attached it to the underside of the shelf. It did stiffen the shelf. I did have to purchase the standard mount because of my TV mounting holes location. There are two models of the mount. I purchased a TV that covers the hole in the cabinet completely it is on the outside of the hole in cabinet but not touching the wood and does not extend pass the frame of the cabinet. The mount allows me to move the TV out and angle it some to allow viewing from different angles. Also, when I pull the TV out I can store things in the space behind the TV mount.

We did the same as thekrusers in our old Mountaineer, we installed a door stained to match in the opening and attached the TV mounting bracket to the door.We found piano hinges provided great support and looked nice as well. The added storage is a nice plus.

Yep on our old 2003 Big Sky we bought the same thing as DONPd,we bought a Mor-ryde bracket that mounts to the BOTTOM of the shelf as you can see in his link and you can adjust it up,down and pull out which was good because the new flat screen was 32in and was bigger than the old TV hole by about 2in on ea side but it worked AWESOME, when you pushed the tv back for traveling it covered the hole perfect AND the 32in TV is MUCH lighter than the old Heavy 27in that was in there but the bracket was expensive,then we sold the Monty 3 weeks later but the next owner loved it I'm sure

Thanks for the ideas folks. Hopefully if it warms up a bit I can get this done. I put the batteries in yesterday and just ran a quick 20 amp AC extension out to the monty and exercised the slides. Looking forward to getting things going here and chomping at the bit.

I mounted mine to the bottom of enclosure. Plywood on bottom of enclosure, shelf brackets to plywood, plywood on shelf bracket, tv mount to plywood. New TV is shorter so had to fill with piece of oak with matching stain. We got a 32"LED
